Likes
- The patient inflow at hitkarini is far better than any other dental college in the region, giving opportunity of good patient exposure.
- The infrastructure has recently been renovated. The campus overall is quite good. Engineering, architecture and pharmacy are also located in the same campus. The entire campus is surrounded by lush trees, adding to it's beauty.
- The quality of theoretical teaching combined with the practical classes is very good. The faculties are very friendly and help you learn about dentistry quite efficiently.
Dislikes
- The canteen food is average, with lots of outside visitors, especially at dinner
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is as decided by the Dental Council of India (DCI). It includes all necessary topics required for application in any dental clinic. Although the syllabus may appear to be very vast, it is doable, especially if you study consistently. There are 3 subjects each in the first, second, and third year, and eight subjects in the final year.
Internships Opportunities
One year of compulsory internship must be done by the student after completion of final year. Rotation based posting in different departments is done. No stipend is provided during the internship here.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee for each year is 221500/- INR. The course duration is 4 years with 1 year of compulsory internship. There are no scholarship options for general category students, While the reserved category students are given scholarships by the state government. The OBC students are given a 50 percent scholarship and the SC/ST students are provided a 100 percent scholarship. The hostel fee is 72000 per year for double occupancy and 100000 for single occupancy rooms.
Campus Life
The campus life is good. An annual fest is organized each year, by the name of Dentica. There is also an inter hitkarini Mahotsav organized each year, which gives an opportunity for co-curricular growth of the students.
Hostel Facilities
I lived in the hostel present in the campus itself. There are two types of accommodations- single occupancy and double occupancy. Bed, table, chair are provided in each room. Fans, tubelight and light bulbs are also provided. There is facility of almirah as well. Electricity and water supply are also included in the fees.
Admission
Any student who has appeared in the NEET-UG exam and has cleared the minimum eligibility score can apply for counseling through MPonline portal. The college will be allotted based on the scores. The student must choose hitkarini as their first choice of college.
Faculty
The faculties present are highly competent. They are both strict and friendly in equal measure. They make you understand each concept alongwith it's clinical application . They are very approachable. You can go to them with your doubts anytime.
