My college

I am BDS student at Govt Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram, which follows the curriculum of KUHS ( Kerala University of Health Sciences). It is a well organized curriculum, giving equal importance to both the theory and practical works. The teaching method involves ICT classes and demonstrations. The timing of exams are pre scheduled.

There is 1 year internship in the college. There are clinical different posting during this period which gives a wide exposure to patients. The stipend is about rs. 30000 a month with other facilities including house surgency quarters.

The total tuition fee per year is Rs. 28000/- . The college hostel fee is around Rs 800+ mess charges. But enough rooms aren't available. There are many scholarships for students of Ews category and some other categories. During the house surgency we get paid.

The campus life is awesome. We have a lot of extracurricular activities including sports meets and interdental competitions. Every festivals and celebrated jn the college. There are many clubs for every activities.

Hostel is good. Four students are alloted a room which is spacious enough. The no of washrooms are also adequate. The menu is decided by the students itself and it is nutritious. We had to fill a form for its allotment.

The admission is based on the NEET score. In Kerala there are 300 govt seats for BDS and colleges are alloted according to this. The application form is made available on the website of nta every year.

As we are medical students, it is important for us to clearly understand the theory topics and get a right guidance for the practical works. Our teachers are very knowledgeable and efficient , hence making studies easier for us. A mentor is alloted for each and every student. As the no of seats per year is limited, the teachers are familiar with all the students an we get to interact with them on a regular basis.
