Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was designed by the committee which includes staff from SPPU, Modern College, IISER Pune, and University of Melbourne. It was a unique approach to have interdisciplinary subjects included in the curriculum. More time should have been provided in the semester if compared with the syllabus. The frequency of exams needs to be overlooked as the semester lasted only for 3 months which was overwhelming for the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is relatively high if compared to other B.Sc courses in the college. There was no scholarship provided to any student based on any criteria. The complete cost of education for 3 years is roughly 1.2- 1.4 lakh, excluding the exam fees which is required every semester.
Campus Life
There were small fests organized by the college every year which are great to participate in. Library is well equipped but still needs more recent publications. Extracurricular activities are provided by the College but aren't given much importance.
Admission
The eligibility for the course is 10+2 (PCMB). The application form was provided by the individual college websites. There were no application fees required. End semester exams were conducted 90 days after the start of every semester. The admission process needs more improvement in running the process smoothly and there needs to more communication between the departments and the administrative staff.
Faculty
Some of the faculty members were great and it was wonderful to have them as our mentors. They all were skilled in their field of research and it was quite easy for the students to interact with the staff. The faculty to student ratio was good, it wasn't overwhelming for the teachers or the students.
