Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took commerce for my higher education as I love finance and economics subject. Thus I did bachelor's in this field. There is a lot of scope in finance field and also a great deal of opportunities. This field prepares you to step in the real world whether you are doing a business or a job. There is a lot of rigidity in the course which creates problems for the new students. They should introduce real world business models to help students learn better. The exams are held twice a year along with monthly tests. These exams test your practical applications of the things which you have learned. They judge you on both theoritical and practical aspects.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students become eligible in their 3 year or 5th semester in a 3 year degree course. Most of the students pursue masters after that or they look for training under companies. The companies that visited during my time are Sunlife pharma, global solutions, Avighna meditech, Clovers India pvt Ltd The highest package was 5 lpa and average package is 3 lpa. I'm pursuing CA after my degree along with working in a firm.

Fees and Financial Aid

The standard 10% fees hike is there every year in the tution fees. My degree took 3 years and I spent around 40000 which covers my whole cost of degree. This doesn't include hostel fees. Hostel fees is charged differently. I received scholarship that's why the fees is reduced. There are a lot of scholarships and financial aid available for economically weaker and academically bright students. Those who get above 90% in their 12th gets a scholarship of 50% on basic tution fees. There is a campus placement program in the last year of your degree where various companies come for interviews for job as well as training.

Campus Life

3.5

We have a fest during September and freshers party to welcome the new students. The college organises programs during navratri, holi, Christmas and new year. The library isn't that well maintained so a limited number of books are available. The classrooms are well ducted but there are few smart classes. There are various inter college competitions for badminton, cricket, football. There are many social and academic clubs like drama, literature, debate, music. You can join 2 clubs. These clubs help you explore your talents.

Admission

You have to complete your 12th from commerce. You can find the application form on their website or you can directly get it from college admission window. The application fees during my time was 1000 and application date defers as per the board results. I didn't avail any reservation benefits. The exams are held twicely for some courses and once for some. The exams test you on both theoritical and practical aspects so you need a proper understanding of your syllabus. After the application, the eligibility lists come out and there is only 5-6 days time to submit the admission form with fees. They should increase the time.

Faculty

4

The class maximum strength is 50 so the faculty to student ratio is 1:50. The classes are big so it's easy for the faculties to focus on each student's activities. The faculties takes therotical as well as practical approach to teach students. You can easily interact with them before or after class for doubt solving. Most of the faculties are very nice and easily approachable. You can easily ask your doubts. They hold doubts session too to tackle student's doubts. They also mentor on real life problems and how to handle them efficiently.

i choose b.com because curriculum was relevent to my aspect, the curriculum is preparing me for my future studies is good but it is quite outdated in terms of todays world, so i would suggest 1 improvement to it, add new chapters and remove old boring chapters from curriculum. there and 6 to 8 months of gap between each semesters and they are quite tricky.
