St John's College

My course was bachelor of business administration(BBA) which is a professional course. In this I studied about alot of things regarding management, business, administration, marketing. Exams used to be done semester wise i.e. 2 times a year along with some tests, viva voce, assignments etc. The course I chose was good but the college didn't provided placements n all whicha was a con. According to me college has to focus more on practical learning, industry visits, and sales etc. They used to focus more on assignment and classes which according to me was less effective method to study about business management. Overall my experience was good.

My fees per semester was 20000 approx, and at the time of admission we had to pay admission fees which was 25000 along with the security fee of 5000. Apart from semester fees we had to give 2000 each semester as examination fee. There were no such scholarship provided by college but as it was semi government college some students used to get scholarship from government itself by filling the forms and completing the criteria. The amount of scholarship was half the fees of one year. There were no campus employment opportunities provided at all.

There was no campus life at all. During my time no annual festivals, freshers, farewell nothing was conducted by college. Library was a size of matchbox only, no sitting area, very few books were available. Classrooms were kind of old and theye were just provided with the fans and it was very difficult to study during summers in that condition. Sports activities used to conduct rarely but there were no sports club or anything Overall there were no clubs and no cultural life.

The admission process was totally based on the marks that we got in 10th and 12th. After applying a list was published online of the candidates who have cleared the criteria and got seat. The application form was available online on the website of college, the fees of application form was 500 and the last dates and every information was available there There was no entrance exams only the interview took place after the list. A entrance exams should be conducted instead of the marks list.

Overall the faculty was good all the professors are well qualified. Teachers used to change each semester. As the class was of 120 students 1 class mentor and 6 teachers were there so rhe faculty-to-student ratio was alright. We were provided with the contact numbers of each and every faculty members and they do even responded to our doubts regarding anything. The teachers used to respond positively everytime I approached them with the doubts regarding class, assignment anything.
