Remarks
In conclusion, if you are content with studying a 3-year course with average or above average fees and satisfactory faculty and facilities, AND if you are in Palakkad or Coimbatore (the college is actually in Coimbatore but nearby Palakkad border) then you might find this college satisfactory. The college is situated in a rural area.
Course Curriculum Overview
As far as the course structure is concerned, I feel there is significant room left for improvement because at times it will fall out of touch with the modern times. But the course is sufficient when it comes to basics and a little bit of advanced knowledge. The exam structure is 2 internals per semester and 1 model exam and 1-semester exam which comes at the end of the semester.
Placement Experience
When it comes to placements there were a lot of companies that visited the campus once we get in the 3rd year. The eligibility of students to appear in these placements depends upon the number of arrears you have. There is no lack of companies that come to this college but the ones that do come are majority call centers and odd teaching jobs.
College Events
The main celebration in this college is Festember and Fantabulous (names might be changed in the future) which is basically the college day. There is a talents day which comes around June/July which is exclusive to 1st years. Onam and Pongal celebrations are also held. The college will collect additional fees for almost all the celebrations it holds.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Mine was the last university batch in this college after which the college became autonomous. So my fees are lower than the autonomous batch however it is nearby the same range as us. Odd semesters (1st,3rd,5th) have 18,000Rs semester fees and even semesters (2nd, 4th, and 6th) have 15,000Rs as fees because of lower working days. There are fines if you don't pay the fees on time.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't opt for an education loan. But if you have, you will have to notify the college which will then take the necessary arrangements.
Campus Life
If you're coming straight from school, you will feel a lot more freedom here than what you got in your school. How you use this freedom depends upon you. Gender ratio varies from course to course. Biology, Maths, English, Fashion related courses will have girls in the majority. Computer, BBA, MBA, BCom related courses will have an even number of girls and boys.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is pretty much average in my opinion. I also didn't have any meaningful connections with any senior students while I studied here. Passed out students rarely comeback.
Admission
There was an admission center in my hometown. I applied through there and gave my original certificates and a token amount in the range of 5000Rs. After that, they gave a date on which there would be an interview in the college (which is at Coimbatore). It took a long while for my turn to come in the interview but the interview was too easy where only my ambitions, 10th, and 12th percentage was asked.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is well experienced to handle students and studies. They are well versed in English but most prefer teaching in their mother tongues. The faculty is supportive mostly in academics. Teaching styles in this college are much like how they teach in schools with support from the smart class/projector, however, this differs with the teacher.
