Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Computer Science branch due to my passion for coding and technology. Another factor that influenced my decision, was that this field also offers the highest-paying jobs. The curriculum is very diverse and deep-rooted. Also recently two new branches had been added, CS AI (Artificial Intelligence) and CS AIDS (Artificial Intelligence and Data Structures). Since its curriculum is supervised by the government, the curriculum cannot be updated very easily. Yet new branches and syllabus are gradually being introduced. The end semester exams are scheduled by RTU and are held every 6 months. Other than that regular Unit tests are held after completing one unit. You can score good marks in these exams simply by attending the lectures attentively.
Placement Experience
By the end of 3rd year, students are given CRT, a specialised training for placements that teaches them DSA, communication skills and mock interviews. It is mandatory and its fees has to be submitted individually. As soon as the CRT ends, companies began to come for hiring. Companies like Celebal, ZS, HP, TCS come every year and recruit students with packages ranging from 10lpa to 15lpa. Almost all students are hired.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are deposited semester-wise. Penalty is imposed in case there delay in fee submission. The penalty is around Rs. 100 per day after the due date. My fee as a student in Computer Science branch is around 48,000 per semester. The college also provides bus facilities for Rs 28,000. No specific scholarship is present here. Though other government schemes like for students from other states can avail their respective state scholarships here.
Campus Life
The college holds an annual fest called 'Renaissance' in the month of March that includes technical, cultural and splash events for students. It is a 3-day fest organized by the Student Concil. It also includes celebrity nights where each year a new celebrity like Parmish Verma and Arjun Kanoongo, is invited to perform. The entry and participation fees are minimal ranging from Rs. 200 to Rs. 400. The college has the following clubs: 1. Social club Aashayein Zarurat Soch Suhasini 2. Cultural Clubs Atrangi Avyaan FnF Khalas Bhangra Crew FotograFreaks Anigma 3. Technical Clubs JECRC Incubation Center JECRC MUN GDSC Moon Riders Xananoids Sports events are held by the student body annually.
Admission
Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre is a RTU affiliated college. Hence its admissions are mostly done through REAP, a government portal for Rajasthan Technical Universities. Direct admission is also possible here. The applications for REAP open quite late, after JEE results are announced. Your rank in REAP is determined by your JEE performance. On the basis of this rank, one can avail their preferred choice of college and branch. It also gives the opportunity for upward movement in case you are not satisfied with your college or branch. Reservation system works here. You need to upload all the required documents (like domicile certificate, minority certificate, TFWS proof, etc.) Since it is a RTU affiliated college, the fees are supervised by the government, and nominal around 1 lakh per year. It also offers TWFS (for income less than 8 lpa).
