Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course was chosen based on my interest field. Research aspect of the course intrigued me. This course provides broad range of subjects which can widen my career opportunities. This is one main aspect that influenced my decision. Thorough education and a great hands on experience provided by the course helps and prepare yourself for real-world application. The teaching faculty helps you in improving and developing your skills. It is one of the finest courses provided by the University. However minor improvements can be made when it comes to examinations. The exams conducted are rather simple. Application based papers would improve individuals' critical thinking skills and creativity.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college provides internship in the final year. If the one passes required criteria, the studeycan perform grand projects under their name. This will boost the individuals' CV and helps in acquiring placements. Clear information regarding the internship is yet not known.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the course is 1,00,000 per annum. This is including the exam fees and other compulsory charges. It is fairy affordable ranging from middle class to upper class families. As of now there has been no report of fee increase. Several scholarships are available for financially unstable families. The university provides special scholarships for North- East Indians. I'm admitted to the college as Ug student so no stipends are awarded.

Campus Life

4

The university provides a spectacular campus life. Several extra curricular activities ranging from culturals, numerous clubs to sports are conducted by the college. Annually cultural fest, college day, annual days etc are held. This is mostly conducted during 2nd half of the academic year. Libraries are available which is open during the class hours . Books of your interest can be borrowed. Wide variety of books are provided. The classroom facility can be improved but still provides adequate necessities. Projectors are present in all the rooms. Annual sports day is conducted which boosts the team spirit and encourages healthy lifestyle. Several clubs and social groups are made and helps in building creativity and engages with the imagination of individuals.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility provided is very accomodating, charging 90,000 per annum. Two persons per room with adequately wide spacious beds. Private bathrooms in each room with hot water available. The meal quality is one of the best and the faculty improves the menu each year. Registration process for the hostel facility is a smooth process and is affordable from middle to upper class.

Admission

The admission process was fairly simple. The eligibility of course is 70%or above in 12th grade. There were no reservation benefits availed. No entrance exams were required. I found the application form from the official Nitte website. The application fee was 100 and and a month of application period was provided. My application was done by August 18 and was approved by the end of the month. The new academic year commenced on September 1st.

Placement Experience:

We do have campus placements in our college. From 5th sem everybody is eligible to appear for campus placements. As far as I know there were Walmart,Paycheck, aceture, sony and many more. Almost about 30 to 50 students from each department get selected in placements. Not really sure about the percentage but somewhere in 60/100. My plans after the degree is to clear SSB or do my MCA .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for BSc is simply the extended version of 11th and 12th standard portions in the first year. It includes the same concepts and the teaching method is rather ordinary and boring and doesn't seem to focus on making the students live the subject but is rather focussed on marks and other upcoming exams. A teacher kept insisting us to do certain problems skipping the others considering the factory that it is very important for a exam after UG. She also stated that everyone are most likely to take up teaching as a job after this which shows how narrow minded and shallow the opinions and minds of the teachers are. This amounts for a greater level of discouragement.
