Remarks

Good college if you are a studious person, but if you are looking for a fun college life may this is not the right place.

Entrance Preview

Back in 2006, there were only a few colleges offering Biomedical Engineering in South India. And most of the colleges were having entrance exams to join them. Luckily this college was providing the particular course with reasonably good facilities by all means.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is old fashioned but still capable type. It was covering almost all the major requisites to later work as a Biomedical Engineer. But in a broader perspective, the curriculum was not capable of providing students with the latest advancements and mostly it was a typical academic type not a capable research oriented.

Internships Opportunities

No. There is no internship provided and hence there is no stipend as well. But recently they opened their Medical college and hopefully, there is proper internship happening at least now

Placement Experience

2

Placements were there, but for the other streams of Engineering not specifically for Biomedical Engineering. That was mostly because the college management itself was unaware of the particular course Biomedical Engineering and couldn't get proper advice from proper sources too

College Events

1.5

There were technical symposiums happening every year. There were art festivals happening every year too. And there was whole college athletic and sports meet happening each year. Apart from all these, there is a celebration of local festivals like Onam of Kerala, Ugadi of Andhra etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was more like expensive. I was paying INR 50,000 each year as my tuition fees. Apart from that, the hostel fee is around INR 25,000 every six months. Then there will be expenses for books, computer, personnel lab tools and uniforms also.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know, there were no much scholarships or anything, but I remember I availed a support of INR 10000 from the college to attend an international conference held in Singapore.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus was mostly boring because of the gender concerns. It was not allowed to communicate with different genders in the campus premises. There were intercollegiate events happening for debates, quizzes and stuff like that every year and was of mediocre quality.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students were really helpful in many ways. In fact, there were many good seniors who really helped each of us left and right.

Exam Structure

There is cycle tests happening every week for each of the subjects except those practical subjects. And then there are assessment tests before the commencement of each of the university exam. And those practice tests were mostly as per the lecturer's interests.

Admission

Although I attended for the TNSF common entrance test to qualify for the admission there were many of my friends who didn't attend, but still got an admission. And then filled the application form of Consortium of Self financing colleges in order to call for the donation. I remember that it was INR30K- the donation that time. And then everything is pretty much straight forward, I got admitted already.

Faculty

2.5

Although few of the faculties were passionate about teaching, most of them were people just graduated and its a safe and easy job type of people. They are good to teach the regular things but were totally incapable of providing answers for the in-depth queries.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.
