Course Curriculum Overview
I joined B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, which is one of the best universities in Andhra Pradesh. I joined this course due to my interest in Electricity and Electronics and wanted to learn about them. Here professors are well qualified but they lack some teaching skills, but they clarify students doubts regarding subjects. We have exams as Mid Semester 1 & 2 and End Semester.
Placement Experience
As this is a university, placement opportunities are good. From 6th semester onwards students are eligible for doing internships and from 7th semester they are eligible for campus placements. Companies like Infosys, tcs, Wipro,etc visit to our college and last year total offers made for BTech students is about 400 from a total of about 450 students. The highest package is 20 lakhs per annum and average package will be 4 lakhs per annum. This college is very good for students who are planning for higher studies. I am planning to do MTech after completing this course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering is 29950 rupees for tuition fees and 40000 for hostel fees. OBC, Sc, St category students are eligible for scholarship from government and that provides entire tuition fees, so that they need to pay only hostel fees. Campus employment opportunities are very limited, you need to be in top students to get employment in campus.
Campus Life
The overall experience of campus life is good. Here we have technical fests for every department and annual fest. Annual fest is called Rhapsody and technical fest of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is E-blaze. There is a very big library and almost every book is available there regardless of how old it is. Classrooms are well maintained but some classrooms are old and need to be renewed. Sports facilities are great, we have a big stadium for sports. There will be some clubs in this college like Ignite Club.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is good but not great. Here we have 2 sharing rooms and 5 sharing rooms for men. There is good space in every room. Mess is great, we get to eat different type of Currys everyday. We get egg omelette daily two times and chicken 3 times per week. Fees for hostel for a year is 40000 rupees.
Admission
I am a resident of Andhra Pradesh. I studied my 12th in a college of Andhra Pradesh board and while doing my 12th, I got to know about an entrance exam for joining B.Tech which is AP EAPCET. So I started to prepare for it. After passing 12th, I cleared the exam with a rank of 52502 at 52marks out of 160 marks. Then I searched some good colleges to join through that rank and got to know about Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering. After that my counseling started and got a seat at that college in B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Then I went to report to college and joined there. So I was availing some reservation as I belongs to OBC. For general category the cutoff for my branch will be nearly at 40000 rank. This was my admission process in Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering.
