Review on basis of self experience

The entire functioning of college is like a corporate organisation. Being there a student feels part of a family but the operations are 'company like' so the student gets emotionally attached as well as gets a slight exposure to how big organizations work. This blend gives the student a slight atmosphere of the way he/she will be working in big organisations tomorrow after passing out from the campus.

I have been in the college for my graduation (BBA) and post graduation (MBA). For BBA I had been selected on the basis of 12th mark-sheet (min. 60% marks reqd. in any stream) followed by PI and Essay writing. For MBA, I gave the entrance of MAT followed by an Interview and Written Essay. I scored 658 marks in the exam. The major reason I opted for this college is it's faculty.

Yes the college provides internship for both the courses of BBA and MBA. For BBA it's a general one whereas for MBA it's specialization oriented one. On an average, the companies do offer a suitable stipend but at student level learning is more preferable than stipends. The companies offering internships here are good brands and hence, good experience comes along with it.

AGBS has been known for 100% placement records for last 8-9 years. They have tie-ups with big MNCs offering the students good packages and working profiles.Last year Amazon has taken 2-3 students from AGBS, Chandigarh giving a handsome package of 12 Lacs to the students. JK tyres also took away 2 students from the campus in the recruitment drive. HDFC Bank, Yes bank, Infosys, ITC, HCL are some names to count as far as placements are concerned.

As far as BBA is concerned the fee structure ranges from 58K to 65K for each semester. For MBA the fee structure ranges from 1.60L to 2.0L for each semester. The fee for every semester is different and the college keeps revising the fee structure on yearly basis.

I availed a 10% fee waiver from college as I continued here for my post graduation as well. Otherwise no scholarships or concessions are known.

The campus life is a mixture of workload and fun. When it's assignment submission time headaches are conman but when it's competition or events time fun is at every corner of the campus. There is no such gender biasness and gender inequality in college. Teachers here have a very broad mind set and encourage learning irrespective these petty issues. The canteen offers variety of food products. The home cooked food there is the most preferable aspect. The entire campus is fully air conditioned and is cleaned on daily basis. The washrooms are always clean and offer good sanitation facilities. The library in the campus has answers to all types of students queries as its full of books, offering e-book facilities also.

The campus as of now doesn't have hostel facility but they have tie-ups with nearby residences for the PG facility or rent facility which includes food as well for the students. All the PG or rented accommodations are very near to the campus so the hassle of commuting is overlooked. The accommodations offer students with food (3 meals) and cleanliness is never a problem. On an average rental range between 5k to 12k depending on size of accommodation.

The alumni network is quite strong in AGBS, Chandigarh. All the pass-out students are well attached with the faculty and thus, their feedback is always a pathway for the new students. The alumni are called up in the campus as per requirements to share their experiences and answer queries of new students to make new students comfortable in the new environment.

The Exam Structure in AGBS, Chandigarh is divided into two broad parameters i.e. external and internal evaluation. The external evaluation is the written exam held after each semester ends covering the entire syllabus of the subject. The internal evaluation is sum total of presentations or assignments delivered, class performance and a written test (mid-semester).

Amity has been a brand in education sphere so I wanted to be a part of it. I came to know about Amity Global Business School, Chandigarh (AGBS) when I was wanting to get an admission in Amity University Noida. While talking to noida people I came to know about the campus in chandigarh and being a chandigarhian I bounced up with happiness and decided to go in for AGBS Chandigarh. I called up the campus and I was being told to come to college for a PI and Essay for my BBA admission. I continued my MBA with the same college by just giving my MAT score as I was the topper of the BBA Batch.
