Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is quite comprehensive and well-structured. I choosed MCA because of the wide opportunity that it provides at the end of 2yrs. The faculty student ratio is almost 1:30. All the faculty members are well-experienced. Professors teach in a very beginner friendly way. So, it becomes quite easy for everyone to learn. All faculties have completed their Phd in their respective field. The beauty of this institute is all the exam dates were strictly decided at the starting of every semester. There was never any delay in examination. The exam used to be tough but all the questions could be found from faculty notes.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Local startup companies like Spikewell, Mindfire and Nirmalya used to offer internship opportunities with a average stipend of Rs.12000 per month. Students with projects on Web Developement used to get good internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement record is good in Silicon Institute. Almost everyone get placed at the end of 2yrs. From 3rd semester placement begins. Nearly 50 companies visit every year which includes Infosys, TCS, Wipro and many more such MNCs. The highest package was 14lpa provided by Amazon in a pool campus drive. The average package used to be 3.6lpa which used to be offered by companies like TCS and Infosys. 90% students got placed every year. I am currently on job which I got through on campus placement in my 4th semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

Course fee and hostel fee for 1 year was 1,35,000 and 30,000 respectively. The canteen bill is on monthly basis. The average used to be 3500 per month. The fees were constant for 2 yrs. There is no scholarship facility. However, I got a campus placement of 4.5 lpa.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at the campus was cheerful. Almost every weekend there used to be small functions. The two big fest of Silicon Institute is Tech fest and Rythmnova which is to held on March and November respectively. There is a big library which has almost all books that we need in 2yrs of our college life. Classrooms has enough comfortable desks and bench and a smart projector. Cricket, basketball and volleyball is the major sport in the campus. There are proper coaches for all these sports. Coming on to clubs, there are a lot of clubs available in the campus that are run by students and faculties. Robotics club is the most famous among them.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel is pretty good. Rooms and corridors are clean and well ventilated. There are beds, tables, chairs and lockers in every room. Food quality in the ccanteen is decent. 3 servings per day (Breakfast, lunch, dinner). The menu is changed every week. The registration foor hostel is done during admission. The hostel is affordable for everyone. I was staying in hostel but some of my friends were staying in rented PGs near the college itself.

Admission

Admission process The admission process for Silicon Institute of Technology was comprehensive and well structured. After the result of OJEE examination, we had to register for OJEE counselling process. And through OJEE counselling, our name got shortlisted. The selection was completely based on OJEE rank. During 2021, the cutoff for MCA was 600. Eligibility Minimum 45% in graduation and a valid OJEE rank card. Application form All the forms related to admission process used to publish in college official website (www.silicon.ac.in). During 2021, there was no application fee. And the expected application date was mid March. Improvement The admission process was quite long. Almost 1 month they take to do the admission. This process can be shortened to 15 days.
