Remarks

Being a government college, every year elections take place here, where students stand & compete among themselves to be the student president of this college. This college is just located as a distance of 50 meters from Govindpuri railway station so transport facility to reach the college is just amazing.

Entrance Preview

For the course that i chose there was no entrance examination nor the interviews or group discussions took place, the only key to get into this college is that you score good in your 12th. A merit list is being declared & the students with good marks in their 12th get a chance to study in this college. Usually the cutoff declared is near 60-70%. Being the best college in south area of kanpur i chose to do my UG from this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum was amazing, it was perfectly designed with a blend of a large number of practicals that were assigned to us so that we can get to have practical leanings more than just reading the text written in the books. We had our laboratory classes scheduled twice a week & were also given projects on various topics where we had to do a lot of research related to the topic & find relevant contexts. the elective options available were chemistry, physics & maths.

Internships Opportunities

No there was no internship scheduled in the course curriculum of B.Sc so college didn't provided from their own, but yes during the vacations if any student wanted to work, the college easily provided them a No objection certificate.

Placement Experience

4.5

D.B.S. College has an Employment cell that functions amazingly well. Nearly 90% of the students got placed this year with renowned companies like DELL, Accenture, Aditya Birla etc. The average package offered to the students was 3 lakhs with the highest package ceiling at 5 lakhs per annum.

College Events

5

Events like Alumni Meet, Sports Meet etc, were organised by the college management. As more than 70% strength of the students of this college belong to the rural areas so they need a special attention. The college provides them the opportunity to upgrade their communication skill.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college being a government college had a very precise & affordable fee structure. The fees for an year was 7300 which include the cost of the library facility provided to us along with the fees for using laboratories for our practical works. The total fees for the whole course is around 25000 which includes the examination fees for all 3 years as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there were a lot of fee waivers for the students in the college, scholarships on the basis of reservations, financial background & academic performances. Yes loans were easily available from banks for the students of this college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No i wasn't residing in a hostel, being a local resident i used to stay at my place only. The college didn't had a hostel inside the campus, but yes there were a large number of PG's available for the students from some other cities or towns who were a student in this college. A nominal amount was charged from them ranging from 4000 to 7000 per month, which include the food for 3 times. The food that they were provided with was of good quality & didn't had any complains.

Exam Structure

The exams were not that frequent, they were scheduled once a year where students had a gap of 2-3 days between two consecutive exams, practicals were also scheduled the same way. It was a very easy going experience & you had sufficient time of leisure even during regular college days.

Faculty

5

The majority of teachers in this college are Ph. D. degree holders and are actively involved in research activities in addition to their regular teaching assignments. Many of them also have published their own books in the subjects of their specialization. The teachers here are more of like a friend, they help you, guide you, give you solutions for all of your doubts & queries. They are more focused on making students understand the things perfectly rather than giving them piles of work. Notes & slides are being shared among the students so that they have an easy access to the content that is being taught in the class.

I would rate the b sc mathematics course curriculum as good in terms of relevance. It covers all the important foundation topics such as algebra , calculus real and complex analysis and differential equations , which are essential for higher studies and competitive exams . The curriculum also include applied subjects like statistics and compute applications which add to its real world relevance .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum 10/10. I choose this course because a bsc degree gives you too many opportunities to do specialization in any field like zoology botany chemistry. Many BSc students choose to pursue further study, which can lead to a more specialized job with better salary, success. Bsc biology prepares you for Research and development: You can work in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, education. You might work as a research assistant, research technician, or clinical researcher. Education: You can teach biology at a university or work in postsecondary education. The improvements required in the course curriculum and teachings methods are : To focus more on helping the student understand the theory well rather than giving them a big practical file to make . The frequency and timings of exams are perfect. Odd sem are held in November, they are theory papers and are of 3 hours .The even semester exams are held in May and are MCQ based questions and are of 1.5 hours.

I can say the best thing about their pattern of examination is that there is 50 mark mcq question paper and then 50 nark subjective question paper which prepare students for most of the competitive exams they have to face for their higher education. Difficulty level of the examination is moderate. If one can listen to the lectures of the teachers they can easily qualify competitive exams.
