IIT Indore Review

The course curriculum is well and good as in the 1st year we study common subjects and then from the 2nd year we study as per our branch. I have a keen interest in space so I have chosen this course. The faculty-to-student ratio for our course is 1:5. All faculty are almost master in their respective subject. The term exams are on time and it was a little bit difficult to pass as we have to write to the point in our exams. The one thing that I don't like is that in 1st year 240 students are studying together and so it is not possible to solve the doubts of all the students.

There are a lot of internship opportunities available to students, generally for circuital branches that are both on campus and off campus, Students are also given stipends and if you are a tech genius your internship stipend can be high as 3 Lakh

As my branch (Space Sciences and Engineering) is added this year there is no data about placement data. But we have an advantage in that the faculty members are experienced in this branch as this branch is available in masters and PhD. Many companies visit our campus every year including Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Samsung, Jio, Oracle, Microsoft, Wipro, Walmart and many more.

The fee structure is good and it takes about 1.25 lakhs per semester. But here they provide FEE WAIVER to us based on family income. They also provide details about other scholarships via mail. Here, there is also a branch of Canara Bank on the campus from where we can get student loans. The only con is that as our branch is newly added this year in Btech course so we don't know about job opportunities although this branch is there in master and PhD.

The annual fest here is FLUXUS conducted in April. The tech fest here at Technosamwad was conducted recently. Besides there are many other events like Lakshya, Shaurya, and many more. The library provides us with many books including around 10-15 copies of each book. In the classroom, we have a projector and well-organised benches. There are many sports on campus including Cricket, Chess, Badminton, Squash, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, etc. The social life here is very good they did a genesis program in the starting days so that students can get connected. There are no websites run by students but yes there are many WhatsApp groups which are managed by the students. These WhatsApp groups are for the clubs only.

In the room, we have a bed along with an almirah and a study table. The only con is that from this year we (1st year students) have to stay 2 students in one room. The meal quality is much better than expected from an average hostel meal. The dining facilities are also much better and we have a special dinner at the end of every month. The registration process is quite good as they have only decided on our roommates and it was quite simple. The hostel rooms are also quite clean and every day they clean our unit.

Admission was done through an entrance exam named JEE Advanced. The Eligibility of the course is having PCM in 10+2. The application form, fees and dates can be found on the official NTA(an agency that is conducting this exam) website. There is a reservation for the OBC category.
