Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar Full Review

The course is well defined for engineering students with all practical exposures given at industries. We were given training for appearing in interviews for companies both on campus and off campus which made us confident. The faculties are good and their teaching method is so easy.

Every year College provides two internships, one is a Summer internship and another is a Winter internship. Many Company provides internship every year these are NTPC, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), Tata Steel & Tata Power, MSP, etc. Every branch student takes on different roles & different global projects. All companies give stipend above 5000/month.

The Placement in this college is good compared to another state government college in Odisha. After 6th semester the Placement is coming. Many Company is visiting for the Campus Placement like ADANI GROUP, TECH-MAHINDRA, TCS, TATA POWER, VEDANTA, INFOSYS, WIPRO, etc. The average package is 300000/year & the highest Placement this year is 900000/year. There are 180 students placed in various Companies & it is increasing every year.

The fee for boys is 27430/year for girls it's free. The total cost of study per year is 74930 including hostel, food & academy expenses. Every student receives a Scholarship of 20000 in the State Scholarship Portal, Odisha & sc/st student gets 44000 in this same scheme.

The campus is really beautiful and huge. Every year a tech and a non-tech festival is organized giving exposure to students in management. The clubs are also formed pertaining to different interest areas. The library has a good amount of books.

There are 2 boys hostel & 1 girl hostel provided inside the campus & the fast year girl hostel is outside in the campus. All the hostels are very huge & beautiful. The hostel provides a Gym, Tennis ground and many more facilities. There are 3 times of food provided in the hostel canteen these are breakfast, lunch & dinner. Both veg & non-veg food are provided in hostel canteen. Every month last Sunday hostel organize a grand dinner.

The admission was taken on the basis of the both Joint Entrance Examination (Main) & Odisha Joint Entrance Examination. Then participated in the OJEE counselling and further secured admission after many rounds of it. The admission letter was generated in 3rd round. Then visit the notice board of the gcekjr website, the admission date is published on this website. Also, there was 2 site reserved in each branch under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme.
