Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I found myself interested in this professional course of MBBS because of my dream to be a good doctor & help people around me for which I chose BJMC as my college as it is the best medical college in my state with a huge faculty with great experience. Professors here have masters in their subjects with good teaching skills & methods. We have monthly term-ending exams, 2 internals exams, and one preliminary exam conducted by our college besides the university exam. Also, we get to learn & experience from a number of patients during our clinical rotations.

Internships Opportunities

4

As MBBS students are bound to complete their 1 year of internship in order to complete the course and receive a degree, we get to do our internship at Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad to which our college is affiliated. We get a monthly stipend of 18000 as per government norms.

Fees and Financial Aid

As my college is a government college fees here are low compared to other medical colleges. Medical books are quite costly which increases study costs a little but if the book is to be read only once in a while it can be borrowed from the college library. Scholarship is provided to MBBS students by the government through digital Gujarat or NMC.

Campus Life

4

A fest called "BJ Beats" is conducted in our college annually which is a sociocultural, literary & sporting mega fest. We have a badminton court, Cricket & volleyball ground on our campus. Social events such as blood donation camps are organised here. A state-level medical conference called Bridgeton was also organised by students of BJMC. We have the support of the junior doctor association (JDA) run by postgraduate medical students. We have an AC lecture theatre and auditorium, as well as practical classrooms. We have a college library and a reading room for study.

Admission

My college provides admission in the MBBS course through online counseling conducted by ACPUGMEC after neet results are out based on state ranking, choice filling by candidates and reservation for seats reserved for state quota and there is separate counseling for all India quota. The eligibility period for the MBBS course is 5.5 years. Cutoff varies according to reservation quota. During my year of admission, the neet cutoff score for the general state quota was around 650 in my college & 610 for the OBC state quota.
