Remarks

The management is student friendly and addresses all our problems and issues regarding anything immediately. I have had a good experience as a student in this college and i would suggest my juniors to opt for this college because of reasonable fees, good patient flow, quality education and a peaceful atmosphere.

Entrance Preview

NEET 2017, got 2600 rank, i had gotten very good reviews about the college, the patient inflow, the quality of the teaching faculty in the department and the varied clinical cases one is exposed to on a daily basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The college is following the course guidelines outlined by the DCI. The department has a very strong emphasis on research with short studies, continuing dental education programmes, thesis and library dissertations and a strong push towards publishing the research work being done in the department.

Internships Opportunities

the college does provide internship. But as i have pursued my internship from another college i cannot fully comment on that.

Placement Experience

4.5

in today's competitive environment, the college tries to provide us with the ways and means to go out and do our best in both academics and clinical fields. Since the emphasis on clinical research is so much in the college, it motivates and prepares us to pursue higher studies like PhD, fellowships etc.

College Events

4.5

Every 3 months we have an inter-departmental seminar sessions Sanchetna, which is an invaluable asset towards preparing for conference presentations and the research and clinical work being pursued by other departments and gives us a bird's eye view of the various clinical situations. The college fest every year encourages us to take part in various cultural activities and refreshes our hearts and minds, various festivals e.g. Holi, Diwali, Christmas, Eid etc are celebrated with equal fervour in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fee structure is transparent and not overly expensive. the best part is that food and lodging are all included in the fee itself. there no hidden charges and no material fee is charged separately from the students. the fee for MDS Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry is 6.5 lakhs per year including hostel and mess.

Fees and Financial Aid

Though the college does not provide any loan facility in house but the management is very sympathetic towards providing all the necessary assistance and paper work required in availing a student loan. The management also has a very understanding attitude and provides long term lee way if the student is facing any financial problem.

Campus Life

4.5

We have students from all states of the country with diverse backgrounds including students from north, south, north east and west. Students are living peacefully and in a congenial atmosphere. The college lays a strong impetus on sports and conducts KPL, soccer, volleyball, cricket competitions every year. Our college has a badminton court, volleyball cort and a big cricket field. A spacious well equipped gym is also present on the campus. English and Hindi debate competitions are held during the cultural week with an interactive session which is very informative.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Individual rooms with attached washrooms are provided to postgraduate students. The hostels for undergraduate and postgraduate students are separate. The rooms are provided with all essential facilities. The security is present round the clock.Any problem inside the hostel is addressed immediately. Elecrticity and water supply is very good. The mess food is fine providing both vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The food is nutritious and always provided on time.

Alumni/Alumna

It is because of the alumini that i got to know about this college to whom i am very thankful. The seniors are good natured and have always helped us. Ragging is strictly prohibited and there have been no such cases on the campus. We are still in contact with the alumini and they have also guided us and informed us about all the job opportunities and life after completion of the course.

Exam Structure

The college has a system of holding annual internal exams for the post graduate students as well which better prepares us to face the University exams at the end of our study period. Preclinical exercises in the first 6 months are vital to preparing us to deal with the various clinical situations in the clinics. Yes the day is hectic but entirely satisfying.

Admission

Got the admission through the UPDGME counselling and i picked Kothiwal Dental College and Research Centre out of the list of colleges on offer because i had gotten very good reviews about this college. the notification for the same was available online on the website and i did not encounter any difficulties during the counselling and the admission process.

Faculty

5

The strongest point is that all the faculty members are regular. the faculty members are helpful, supportive and always present in the department to guide us. they are constantly pushing us to excel in all that we undertake. Individual attention is accorded to all the students. The faculty is extremely learned and devotes personal attention towards improving our seminars, case presentations and journal clubs. The exposure to various conferences, continuing dental education programmes has instilled in us a strong drive to pursue clinical research.

One of the most positive procedures of our college is the presence of digital tutorials regarding dental health on the official website of the college. The faculty of the college upload several videos on the official website through which the students can learn more about the oral hygiene. Apart from it, regular dental camps and dental clinics are set up by the faculty for the development of the students.

They should focus on student welfare. or at least listen to their problems. the principal of my college was an extra brilliant person who makes student suffer for his personal gains. This is the reason students are discontinuing the course and leaving. Seats remain vacant coz of misbehaving with the students, while others are discontinuing the course.
