Physiotherapy at NIMS hospital.

Bachelor's of Physiotherapy is a 4.5 years professional undergraduate medical course, after its successful completion one can become a professional physiotherapist. The demand and scope of physiotherapy is good in India and if we talk about it abroad then it's great as people are aware of this treatment. At NIMS we have 360+ students in our class and we have only 2 professors for each subject, and one professor has to teach 360 students at the same time. The faculties are highly qualified and are determined to provide good quality education. They always make sure that we have clear concepts of everything they teach, and also they use a lot of practical classes to make us visualize everything. Exams are conducted semester wise and one semester usually lasts for 5 months, exams are of moderate level you can not pass just by studying overnight, one has to clear the concepts and attend regular classes to pass.

At NIMS University we have to do a compulsory unpaid internship for 6 months only at NIMS hospital, and the roles offered are observing and assisting the senior physiotherapist. Interns have to assist senior physiotherapists in diagnosis and also in providing treatment.

Placement here is usually based on candidate skills, knowledge, and network, so we have to go on the hospital postings from 3rd year and then after the completion of the final internship, we are eligible for campus placements. campus placement is offered by NIMS Hospital, Eva Hospital, and other hospitals in Jaipur City. Students also take off-campus placements where they have a good network. After completion of BPT the highest package one could get is around 3.6 LPA and the average package can be around 2LPA for the role of Physiotherapist and Assistant Physiotherapist. Almost 60% of students are placed from senior batches and others are either doing higher studies or have their clinical setup. I have planned to go abroad for higher studies as there is very little growth after BPT in India.

The fee hike is generally seen after a year like they increase 10k-20k. Intuition and hostel fees or sometimes more, there are no fixed fee hike policies, but they charge heavy fines for every misconduct, therefore it really affects the budget. The merit-based scholarship is provided to students who secure more than 50% marks in their class 12th boards. Scholarship amount ranges from 50% to 100% scholarship for 1st-year tuition fee depending on the marks and further, in subsequent years the scholarship can be availed if you have good marks in the previous year's exams. We have to do 6 months of compulsory unpaid internship only at NIMS hospital.

There are a lot of fests and events organized by the university throughout the year the annual sports competition is the university's big event and other fashion shows, celebrities meetups, etc. are organized almost every month. Libraries are really good, we have one central library which has a great collection of books and a reading hall along with a computer section and wifi facilities for us, and also every department has its own small libraries. Classrooms and labs are well equipped, every classroom has projectors, smartboards, and good speakers. We have various sports activities on campus like Cricket, Football, Badminton, volleyball, Tennis, Table tennis, Basketball, Gym, and also a swimming pool. Few social groups are run by students for sports, cultural events, and religious gatherings.

Hostels are expensive, we have options for 4/3/2/1 seater rooms with or without AC, and fees range from 80k to 3 lacs. per year. Hostel rooms have seperate cupboards and attached washrooms, mess and laundry is also provided under hostel fees. Mess food is okay, you can survive on this food, don't expect taste in food but yes it's healthy. Most students prefer outside food because of its taste. The registration process is quite easy, you just have to do a few paper works and if hostels are available then it will be allotted at that time. Most students take nearby PGs as they are more affordable and we have some freedom there. Also, students don't have to pay extra fines for any misconduct that happened in their room. PGs are easily available outside campus, there are various PGs and mess facilities available at affordable prices.

Bachelor's of Physiotherapy is a 4.5 years professional undergraduate course, the admission eligibility criteria for this course is that a candidate should have passed class 12th boards (PCB) with 50% or above marks. The application form for BPT is available on NIMS university website and the fee for the form is 800 INR, which can also be discounted by using coupons available in their newsletter mails. Application forms are available from March to October. If we talk about reservation benefits then unfortunately there are no reservation benefits in any form in the university. Make sure to cross-check every piece of information they provide you during the admission process because they are not transparent with it and have a lot of dark secrets.
