Remarks
Overall the college experience is wonderful compared to where I lived. Barring placements & internships everything in the college is top notch.
Entrance Preview
There is no requirement of entrance exam to enroll in Jain vishwa bharti college. It is the most reputed college in Nagaur and bachelor's degree is only given to girls and advanced courses are co-ed. There was a personal interview where attitude and GK is checked. I am always interested in sociology and upliftment of poor people so I chose this course.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was good enough. Theory was given more importance. As I was in sociology so few projects based on rural areas were given as it was a rural area. The three year course was lengthy and challenging to cope up with as I was associated with NGOs.
Internships Opportunities
It is same as placement. No internships were provided. Summer holidays were granted. Internship could be taken as self initiative on interest with or without informing college. But no one did internship as there was no trend to go for internship.
Placement Experience
Placements were not provided in the college. No students were placed. No companies visited the campus. Because it was a rural area so there was no industrial exposure. It was not possible for college to arrange for placements. Even if placements would have been were arranged the parents of girls wouldn't have allowed them to join.
College Events
Events were a big part of our academic year. Many cultural, literal & management fests were oragnised by college on special occasions as well as sports tournaments were held. Mind power workshops and meditation was given prime importance. Average footfall was around 1000 people. College looked after the oraganisation of events but we were given roles and responsibilities to fulfill.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure per year was Rs. 10,000 which also included money for uniform. Bus charges were extra of 8,800 but I didn't go by bus. No extra amount is charged for any other activities.
Fees and Financial Aid
A lot of scholarships were provided as it was a trust funded college and economic background wasn't so good of girls. Very few girls took loans in which college would guide and help with required documents. But scholarships were taken by most of the girls.
Campus Life
The college was very good in terms of extracurricular activities. Yes the college provided many opportunities to develop inner talent. The events which college oragnised were the major platforms to perform and develop ourselves. The facilities for the same we're abundant. College supported in overall grooming of us.
Hostel Facilities
Best thing about hostel is that it is available for only Rs. 10,000 per year. Hostel facilities are more than enough. It includes food also. Food is very good when compared to amount paid for it. I didn't live in hostel but I have stayed for 1-2 nights. They didn't had pgs all the buildings were dedicated for specific purposes. The rooms were on sharing basis.
Alumni/Alumna
As most of the students are from rural areas. There is no network of alumni established. Students visit the college from time to time after passing out but there is no platform for where students could interact with alumnus. The alumni did not contribute in the overall development of the college as well as students.
Exam Structure
Exams were chill environment as the trust believed that students must not treat studies as burden and focus on self development. There were no lab sessions but projects were given for partial evaluation.
Faculty
Faculty were very good as the trust was focused in providing good education to students. Most of the faculty were PhD holders and selected on the basis of same qualifications. They were moderately interactive but cleared our doubts. The standard of teaching we're also moderate but the infrastructure helped a lot.
