M.sc (Microbiology)

Microbiology is such an emerging field in India it gives me the opportunity to work in the research field as well which is my core interest. Faculties at NIMS University are well qualified and they make sure that students have no doubts left. The student-faculty ratio in our course is good and there are enough faculty for us. The faculties are well qualified and the teaching method of the faculties is also good, they provide us lecture PPTs and other materials and are very cooperative. Exams are conducted once a year and are of moderate level for students who have attended lectures properly.

There are no such fixed fee hike policies of the university although they can increase the fees by 5k-10k whenever they want. Merit-based scholarship on the basis of BSc aggregate marks is provided by the university for the first-year tuition fees. University doesn't offer campus placement they only provide 1 year of internship without a stipend.

The campus life of Nims University is soo good, the university organises a lot of cultural fests and annual sports competition events throughout the year. University has 3 libraries with reading hall the central library is wifi enabled and has a great collection of books with a huge reading hall and also a computer section for students. All the classroom is well equipped with smartboards or projectors to give us a great learning experience. There are a lot of sports activities available on the campus which includes cricket, football, basketball, tennis and badminton and all these activities are performed at the university level in the annual sports competition of the university. There are few social groups in the university for social gatherings, cultural events and religious practices.

Hostel facility is okay, we have options of 4/3/2/1 seater rooms with or without AC which ranges from 80000 INR to 300000 INR. Hostel fees is inclusive of mess and laundry services. Food quality at hostel mess is good and can be tolerated, we have variety of food options throughout the month. Registration process for hostel is easy, candidate have to do few formalities at the time of admission for opting the hostel. Nearby PGs are also available around University and are way more affordable than hostels, student prefer PGs over hostel as ther give more freedom with respect to entry exit timings and are affordable too.

Eligibility for MSc. Microbiology is that a candidate must have a BSc degree in life science, botany, zoology, microbiology or related subjects with an aggregate of 50%. The application form is available on the university's website, application form fee is approx 800 INR. There are no reservation policies in any admission or academic procedure. A lot of improvements are required in the management of the university
