Remarks

I think One Bad thing about our management was they cancel any trip at last moment like we all have one friend who does that.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It depends on the branch or stream you opted for .For my view and some of senior students ,this college is best for Mechanical and Electrical Department. They do have a large Workshop ,you can call research center for their respective Stream. So I Suggest to try on these branch if you eye to get admission into GIET, Bhubaneswar.

Internships Opportunities

No They Don't Provide internship Inside their Campus. But they Do Send Students to Other Sites,Companies, College campus for this.

Placement Experience

3.5

In our batch Job placement was 98% success rate.Which is great.our senior batch had 85% .so it's o. Growth track. They have a Good Training and Placement Department.Recenntly TCS,AGS, ACCENTURE,LINTECH ,Pearl Furniture,Repro Technologies etc with Good Package. Average package may be 2-3 lakhs per annum.and the highest package was 5.5 for AGS technology for Mechanical in our batch ,they selected 10 boys for their company.

College Events

4

Every Year so many events are celebrated there. 1.Orientation For fresher 2.Freshers Day. 3. Of course Annual Function. 4. Annual Sports Meet. 5. Inter College Competitions. 7. Health Programs(blood donation,Organ donation awareness) 8. Training for Good Personality. The most Famous occasion is Annual Function. It's quite Big Festival for us in College. A lot of College students also invited. You can also participate in a list of Competition or cultural program.

Fee Structure And Facilities

They Don't Charge more than Industry Standard.for me They are not over priced or something like that. They charge for what they Provide. 1.3 lakh / Year (Education+Accommodation) As I was Selected Under TFW(TUTION FEE WAIVER) scheme ,so I had to pay only for my accommodation like hostels ,food campus life,WiFi etc which cost me 60k for year .And you opted to leave Hostel then you fee will be 85 k /annum with Bus facility.

Fees and Financial Aid

I availed TFW scheme to avoid the Tution Fee of 70 k /annum.if your household income is less than 4.5L/A. You can avail a Lot Scholarship From Odisha Govt.Like "MedhaBruti,Prerana ,Indian Oil Scholar ,".

Campus Life

4.5

College Life Or you may say campus Life was Great for me.Whole Campus is WiFi Enabled.A Big Playground for Cricket and Football,a Indoor hall for indoor games.24/7 Library (AC). I guess gender ratio was good except Mechanical Branch.Ragging free Campus.Every one has equal right it say whatever they want. Good Feedback team who act immediately.24/7 vehicle for medical purposes or any emergency .We had A great Cricket Team. Two times Inter college Championship. So Overall I enjoyed My campus life.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No Chef can make a food to fulfill every Person's taste bud.You have to adjust with that. They may lack in Taste but they have Quality food Systems for Hostelers ,You can buy food from a mini supermarket inside the canteen.Hostel for both Girls and boys Are inside the Campus. For every 3 person one room is allotted.Sweepers come every day.they clean both room, bathroom , corridor.24/7 Water and Library.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors Of Batch was really helpful. They used to come to our to ask for Food , cricket bat. thats how much we are close to each other. No partiality for any junior .All are equally treated their. They teach you some useful tips for Interview ,way of speaking in English. So No complaints for them From me.

Exam Structure

They Follow BPUT UNIVERSITY and Their Exam Structure. Every 6 months 1 semester so you got 8 semester in your whole career at GIET. Every Semester has 3 INTERNAL EXAM. With in Every internal exam you have to appear at least 2 Class tests. They Do have a Backlog system for a back in any subject. They have Special Exam For Final year students with backlog. They have a Skip Subject for Final Year Students with back log.You can Skip any one subject of your backlog list.

Admission

you can get into this college by any Formal technical Entrance exam Like IIT,AIEEE,OJEE etc.But for every exam they have different cut offs. Then You have to go through a Council program to get a seat of your branch, after that just contact the College authority and tell them that you got a invitation for this college then they will do all the paper work or whatever.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
