College of Dental Science and Hospital, Indore- A review

I chose BDS because I wanted to be a doctor since I was very young. Faculty: Student ratio- 1:10 Qualification of teachers- MDS, PhD Term exams- Annual examination at the end of each year and 3 internal assessments in each academic year.

The college provides internship opportunities to students immediately after passing their Fourth year BDS examination. The students are posted in various departments for fixed periods of time where they are given opportunities to perform solo treatments under the guidance of highly qualified dentists. The stipend provided to interns is around eight thousand rupees.

Students who are from reserved categories get scholarships specific to different categories. The amount ranges from 40000 to around 100000 Rupees. The stipend offered to the interns is eight thousand rupees.

The college organises an annual fest by the name of 'Endothon'. Apart from the annual fest, there are additional programs organised by the students, management and teaching staff like the Ganesh Chaturthi program, Garba Night, and Christmas Eve celebration. Educational seminars and demonstrations are also conducted for various subjects.

NEET is required for the Exam for Admission to BDS. Eligibility- 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core subjects from a recognised board. After scoring qualifying marks in the examination, the candidate can go through counselling and fill in the preferred choices of college. The criteria for getting admission to various colleges is by scoring the cut-off marks.
