Good College

College management had good resources and they had good talent to teach skills to students.

SRM has it's own entrance examination along with its own scrutinization. The marks I remember was for 100 marks but honestly I don't remember the exact marks I got. But I remember my rank was around 8000. If I recollect correctly, it was 8027.

The course curriculum was structured very well in such a way that all the branches of the University will follow the same curriculum invariant of the campus. The curriculum is well organized so that all of them can be referred and chosen at the beginning of the itself.

SRM university provides an option to perform one Semester (5th or 6th) abroad of your choice based on the performance. For the Final year internship, students have to search for the opportunities and faculty would help if required.

SRM university always sets a record in placements. University always claims for 100% placements. More companies like TCS, HCL, CTS and many more companies recruit very often. Coming to the core mechanical companies, SRM has also got reputed companies like John Deere, Mahendra etc. Packages were offered on an average of 3.5 to 4 Lakh per annum.

There were many events those were conducted through out the campuses. Like Robotics, cultural events and also lecturers takes part very effectively. There were even students coming from other universities and even other states as well. Nominations for events were also invited through online several days before the commence of the event.

Fee structure was a little bit expensive compared to other universities. It was around one lakh fifty thousand only for the tuition fees and college, library fees etc. The hostel fee was around seventy five thousand to eight five thousand which includes the room fees and the food. The hostel fees was very expensive, so I took the hostel only for one year and later we have formed a group of 10 people and shifted to an apartment outside.

There was option to choose loan facility which University helps to get it from the bank. However, I haven't availed in the campus. Scholarship is based on the merit and the caste(lower caste).

Campus life is what you will like the most in SRM universities. You will learn a lot of things in your bachelors degree in SRM university. I was in mechanical engineering, so there were very minimum number of girls. Out of around 270 members in Mechanical engineering for 3 sections, there were only 4 girls. There were 2 girls put in one section and other 2 in another section. Of course as I mentioned there were a lot of events organized in the University every year.

Hostel facilities was just ok for the price which they have offered, because there was no AC and the price was only for a Non-AC. There may be a chance that the policies have changed now, but I have heard it is more than which I have paid earlier. I could rate hostel facilities as 6 in the scale of 10. Hostel expenses also included the transport fees because the hostel wasn't near by the campus, but it was around 5-6 kms from the college.

I was in the first batch of the launch of the new campus and we were the seniors and super seniors in the University. Yes the alumni network was started by personality development staff and it's continued now.

Exams were also well organized and easy for preparations. It was never hectic. We were getting ample time to prepare for each exams and practice easily. The exams were mostly conducted in the same campus and the evaluation was done by other campus lecturers.

I wrote exam that was conducted by SRM university. I took the exam in 2009 and fortunately SRM University launched a new campus in Vadapalani which was my luck and I took the required branch of my choice. The admission process was very simple and all the instructions was provided with ease.

Most of the faculty have completed PHD and well trained. I am mentioning about all the campuses. I have also seen the faculty in Katankulathur SRM university campus. There are few selected very knowledgable faculties who understands the frequency of the students and teach accordingly.
