A brief guide for the BHMS course

The BHMS course is all about treating the patients via the Homoeopathic medicine, in this course the students are taught about the Homoeopathic mode of treatment which includes subjects like Homoeopathic pharmacy, organon of medicine and materia medicine other subjects are the same as MBBS, I chose the course because homoeopathy is a growing pathy in the world and it is all about curing disease without harming the patients. There are about 2-3 faculty per subject including HOD and assistant professor, the faculties are either MD or compulsorily have a BHMS Degree. Teaching is done via books, presentations and practically in lab and hospital opds so that students can train themselves how to treat the patients and behaviour with them. The exams are taken annually and 2 internal college exams, the main result is theory and viva in which the student must score 50% marks to be considered a pass.

The internship is done by the students in college hospitals and the also college enrolls the students in different NABH hospitals. The stipend is a bit low in comparison to other medical streams. There is a thesis to be completed during the internship program.

The fee structure varies accordingly to the quota in which you get the admission and here the fees are around 1 lakh per annum, excluding other costs. Yes, the fee hike is necessary so that the college can improve the facilities and can give students a better way of learning. There are certain government scholarships depending upon the student's marks in 12th std such as MYSY which gives 50% of the academic fees back to the student in his bank account every year apart from it there are freeship card schemes for the lower caste students.

There are activities conducted every month such as a department celebration and also there is a sports week every year with a dinner party and annual day. The campus includes different departments along with a library which includes every book required for student academic part and also there are journals of various known doctors. The classroom is huge and airy and also includes a green board, a multimedia system, and a projector to teach the students digitally.
