Honest review

I joined this college in 2021, which was covid -19 year. My 12th board exams were canceled, so at my time admission was done on the basis of a basic entrance test which was followed by a personal interview test. The interviewer in the personal interview test was the dean of SOMS (school of management sciences) Dr. Sunil Kumar Roy. The application process is easy. For applying first you need to fill out an inquiry form on the website of apeejay stya university and then you will receive a call from the counselor which will help in the application process.

I choose this course because I want to make my career in the field of accounting and finance and wish to work in a foreign country. This course can fulfill both wishes, and that is why I selected this course. In a batch of ACCA, there are only 5 students. There are 3-4 teachers who teach us our degree subjects. Teachers from different departments also teach us different core subjects. Teachers here are well qualified and they use ppt which is displayed through projectors for teaching. The teaching method is good. There are sessional or mid-term tests during the semester and then the end-term exam at the end of each semester.

The university provides internships to all students in our department (i.e.SOMS). It is compulsory for every student to do 2 month internship from 1st year onwards only. I also got my first internship in 1st year of college only in marketing and finance profile. The internship begins after the end of the 2nd-semester exams. The major problem with an internship was that it was online, but then also I learned many things from the internship.

The university says it has given placement to every placement over the past year which makes it 100% placement. My senior batch is going to get campus placement after this semester, which is going to end in January- February. I plan to go for a job after completing all my ACCA papers.

The fees for B.COM (H) in Accounting and Finance (ACCA) are based on the total percentage scored in 12th board exams (You receive a higher amount of scholarship if your 12th score is higher). Apart from this, I received a mean and merit scholarship of 10000 for the first year. ACCA is an international course which make it costlier. The fee paid to ACCA directly apart from college fees such as ACCA registration fee, subscription fee and exam is paid in GBP.

There are different fests organized in the university by different departments. There is an annual sports fest conducted at the university. (There is no specific month for the fest to be conducted). There is books and journals are available in the library. You can even get different daily newspapers in the library. There are projectors in every classroom and even smart boards in some of them. There are different clubs like sports clubs, music clubs (melodium music society), dance clubs, etc. There is also a Rotaract club at the university which is run by the students themselves.
