Remarks

On the whole I personally had a great experience. For which I will always be grateful to everyone in my college. My friends & faculty. Yes there will always be some loop wholes, but definitely an experience to remember with lots of happy memories.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for SRMEEE,I was suggested by my cousin about this college and I was really impressed by the culture of this college. I don't exactly remember but I guess I scored something around 110. As I said I was really impressed by the open minded culture and opportunity for easy flow of ideas among the staff and the students of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum on the whole is very well planned out. But on the whole I would say it depends on the student on how he makes the best of it. First year everyone had the same set of subjects. Then from second year, the branch specific electives came into the picture. Initially they give gud importance to the fundamentals to set a strong foundation. Then from third next year the latest industry ready electives are introduced. Overall it was an efficient planning. But as I earlier said, it depends on the individual on how dedicated he is to learn/grasp the subjects.

Internships Opportunities

They don't provide any paid internship as such, but they provide us contacts and other helpful ways to get in touch with industrial people and arrange for an IV (Industrial Visit) to these industries. That definitely helps to have a real-time knowledge of what is actually happening at the industrial or market level.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements I would say, were good. Statistically it might not have been that impressive (comparing number of students placed to number of students in the batch) But good opportunities were provided, Good companies were invited. As usual the IT Services companies were the mass hirers. Also in terms of ROI it was gud, but provided the person works hard and is well aware of the industry requirements.

College Events

4.5

There were many actually. I personally was very much involved in most of them, as I was a class representative myself and also the treasurer for mechanical club. We organised various technical and cultural events, both internal and inter college. We also conducted various symposiums. Apart from the engineering department festivals. There were many organised by the MBA department as well. So on the whole it was quite happening, also those were the early years of the college as well, because that campus had been established in the year 2013.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It depends on with which university you compare with. If you compare it with government universities then it will seem very very expensive comparatively. But if you compare it with other private institutions, they are all almost the same.In my case Tution fee-1.5L Hostel fee-1L max Overall for 4 yrs:10L

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship 1. Sports scholarship,2. Financially weak scholarship 3. Exemplary academic performance scholarship. 4. Top 1000 rank holders in IIT/AIEEE scholarship These are the ones that I am aware of, but there might be others as well. Admission office will help the student with this information.Loan There are many banks that have tie up to provide loans. Admission office will help in this case as well.

Campus Life

4.5

I can write a long description for this one. But I will try to keep it short. The gender ratio is generally good. But then it changes according to the branch that you refer to. On the whole it is good. Student parties, yes we used to party a lot in the later years, but nothing inside campus, it would mostly be outside campus. Cultural and student diversity is something I loved about my college and is definitely a strong point. Tolerance overall is actually very gud, yes sometimes we had clashes among gangs from different cultural background. But that was not that often. The economic status of 80% of the students is good. They are mostly well to do. Religious conflicts have never occurred to my knowledge. Politics yes sometimes you feel it in terms of marks and grades (favouritism). But that's case specific.

Hostel Facilities

4

In terms of quality of hostel. In my first year it was bad. But then it imported phenomenally after second year. They are always ample seats for the hostel as many students prefer to stay outside by renting apartments, as its a city campus. The only problem that I faced was language problem sometimes. But on the whole it was good, not bad. Now they have improved even more to my knowledge.Food is also good, the quality is good.Taste, it might differ with individuals preference.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network is becoming strong now, earlier there was not much. Recently we had an Alumni meet. Lot of people from various backgrounds of occupation had come. There was a lot of exchange of ideas and experiences. It was a good experience on the whole. Further my interaction with my college seniors has been very helpful. Initially there was some friction, but then everything went smoothly and I am still in touch with most of them.

Exam Structure

We had basically, 3 exams. 2 Unit tests and one Final semester. So the final semester results dus depend on how you performed the 2 earlier unit tests, but not to a very significant level. Lab exams were only semester related. But ya sometimes we did have Lab related workshops and other lab tests happening. Though it was not hectic, but still it definitely had a grip on us.

Admission

First I appeared for SRMEEE, then I was shortlisted and called for councelling. Further when we went fir councelling there were various seats available at its various campuses. So we had to choose as in which campus and which branch. It was a first come first basis (according to the students ranking)for choosing your seats. They had various slots like ranking 1000-2000,2000-3000,etc. During that time the campus that was most in demand was the kattankulathur campus. So it got filled really fast, then the rest.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties are well qualified. But one problem we faced was that, there used to be a lot of changes in the faculty. What I mean is, if we have a professor for one year, he might quit the next year and a new faculty comes as a replacement. So sometimes there might be a break in the Raho. But this happened not that often, but it did happen. I guess this is a challenge that most private institutes face these days.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
