Remarks
The eligibility of the course that I have chosen i.e. B.Voc Data Science was to have passed 10+2 with more than 60% in any stream. The application forms can be found at the reception and the fee structure is explained by the teachers who are there to familiarize the applicants with the course. Overall the admission process is streamlined and simple.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I had passed 10+2 in the commerce stream, my options as I had thought were B.com or BBA. But when I went in for admission, the teachers made me realize that I could also venture into the computer science spectrum. And there I was introduced to a data science degree. It made sense to me as I now wanted a more practical degree. The staff is ample in quantity and we'll be qualified. Most teachers in the computer science dept. are Ph.D. holders and have an average teaching experience of 15 years. The teaching methodology varies from traditional methods like books and board to a more practical hands-on experience in labs The term exams were not too complicated and could be passed and scored well if studied thoroughly.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The fee for B.Voc data science is 35,000 approx. per annum which can be paid either in installments or a standard 60:40 split. The course is fairly new being around 6 years old so not a significant rise is there in the fee structure. Scholarship opportunities are provided to the top scorer.
Campus Life
The annual tech fest is usually organized in January and A fresher's party is also arranged annually in September. Over the year different departments organize events and festivals are also celebrated. The general library is more than enough and doesn't lack in quantity. You can find books regarding all subjects taught and other books for recreational reading along with previous year's question papers The amenities in the classroom are sufficient and nothing much to write about. Sports element is lacking and extracurricular activities are sparse. The IT department runs a club called the IT Forum run by the students and a Student Welfare Association is also present
