Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course, i.e. Veterinary Sciences, because I was keenly interested in the research areas in animal biology right from my formative years. I gained inspiration from my father and his colleagues who worked as research scientists at ICAR ( Indian Council of Agricultural Research). The faculty-student ratio is good, everything is according to the rules laid down by the government, as it is a state government institution. All the faculties of our college are doctors and PhD degree holders. The teaching method includes marker-whiteboards, projectors and learning by observation of the specimen. As of now, according to MSVE-2016, the schedule is annual, which includes three internal assessments and one external assessment at the end of each year. The duration of the course is 5.5 years, which includes one year of internship. Since it is a professional course, the subjects are not easy, and a consistent amount of hard work is required to retain the acquired knowledge and pass.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship offered is mostly at the Government Zoo and farm and Veterinary clinics. The students are trained to perform surgeries, take care of animals, and other veterinary-related aspects. The students are also taught laboratory work.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are three kinds of seats available in the college according to the ranks obtained. First, 30-32 seats are free seats ( 5 lakhs total fees), the next 30-32 seats are paid seats ( 15 lakhs total fees) and the remaining 15-20 seats are NRI sponsored seats ( 23 lakhs total fees). The distribution of seats changes every year, but more or less this is the pattern. For unreserved, obc, sc and st students with poor financial background ( less than 2 lakhs/annum home income) can avail of Samaj Kalyan Scholarship provided by the government. The fees mentioned in the brochure at the time of admission will be charged throughout the degree. No fee hike in this matter.

Campus Life

5

The annual function/ cultural night is held every year on 2nd October. This is also the foundation day of the university. The Name of the annual function is UMANG. The college hosts the largest fully air-conditioned library in Western Uttar Pradesh. It has plenty of books available related to the subjects. Classrooms are well equipped with comfortable step seats, projectors and smart boards. Both boys' and girls' hostels are equipped with Gymnasium. The university has a basketball court, cricket stadium, field area for athletic events, Table Tennis court, and Badminton Court. An Annual sports meet called SPARDHA is also organised for university students. The winners are further selected for ICAR National Sports events. The college has Literary, Dance, Cultural and Photography clubs. The college also has a few vlogging and teaching channels on YouTube and Instagram.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel Facility is excellent. The cost for the entire year is 8000 ( excluding mess charges). The mess charge is around 2500, the mess cooks both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The meal quality is good too. A balanced diet is provided. Registration process: An application form for the hostel allotment has to be filled out by the students if they wish to take a hostel room at the time of admission. The process is fairly simple.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course gives you the right to treat animals and pursuing you a very respectful degree. There is no improvement I need in course curriculum and teaching methods because the teachers are so experienced and the teachers are studies from a very high rated institute such as IVRI Bareilly. The difficulty level of exams is moderate and it is not easy like other degrees such as Btech, Biotechnology etc. You have to study so hard and regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When I didn't get into MBBS at first, I used to run away from veterinary because it was never my first choice, but as I kept growing, I got to know the opportunities and vastness of this field, which motivated me to keep going. You can do whatever you want after BBVSc, be it a government job as an VO or preparing for civil services, or you can open your own clinic in any city. Exams happen every 3 months or 3 times, which you have to pass so that you can sit in final exams that happen just after the 3rd internals. Internals usually are easy, while final exams are moderate and hard, along with the practicals also.
