Remarks

Overall in my opinion its a good college there are some bad points too but as everyone knows nothing is perfect so is Sathyabama. Its not perfect but you can have a amazing stay in here... Specially in automobile department.

Entrance Preview

I took an entrance level examination to get in this college. Automobile was my interest but directed by only Sathyabama as according to my entrance marks I was given that course. Well it was worth taking up this course as it mainly deals with all practical things, so easy to understand. Talking more about my college, staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Overall 4 years of my life was worth spending in Sathyabama.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As i have seen my friends in other colleges, they struggle for getting to know about the subjects and any electives for current semester. But in Sathyabama they will provide you with books for every semester, and they will charge for it in your yearly fees and they will provide enough notes for every semester. Talking about the practicals they have enough facilities. And if someone too interested for studies they have a huge central library, you can find any field related books just by a simple search on a computer, and monthly magazines from every field like chip magazines autocar overdrive you can get it every month to read. They have given enough things to read the only condition is someone should have an interest to utilise it.

Internships Opportunities

As our department is considered we didn't had any internship in 4 years because when i joined Sathyabama at that moment first batch of department of automobile were getting pass out. So, internships was not available as there were no links to companies.

Placement Experience

4

Placement in Sathyabama is too good if you only talk about IT fields. For Mechanical and Automobile they offer very less companies due to less companies links and tie ups. But if you consider IT fields every year more than 130 companies visits Sathyabama with an average package of 3.5 to 4 lacs (INFOSYS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, any many more) They're some companies (ZOHO) that offer upto 6lacs too but for that you should fall in A category i.e., above 8 CGPA with all clear record through out your engineering journey.

College Events

4

Sathyabama yearly takes up mainly two events i.e., Fame fest and an annual fest. Both are done on large scale and celebrities from Tamil cinema and inspirational speakers, cricketers (Sehwag) comes as a chief guest of the show Apart from this they have scholars day, the day when students gets pass out and gets degree from the chairman.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Comparing it with any other private deemed institution the fee structure is feasible as per the facility and environment of the university Yearly they charge 97 thousand which includes tuition fees, semester books with notebooks and A4 sheets for assignments, transport buses and two times food in college.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as i know they might give some discounts and the time of joining but during your stay in Sathyabama you will only be rewarded by some merit certificates and gift cards For loans as per my knowledge they don't provide such things but can't say for sure.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is good you might feel it little bit boring in starting but as the time will pass you will start settling down and you will like the place. As Sathyabama takes admissions from all over india so you could see students from different states. Sathyabama is considered little bit strict by some people but as far as i know it differs from department to department.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

As i was a day scholar for all 4 years so i know least about the hostel facility According to my hostel friends its feasible but very strict as you have to produce lots of permission letter for a single day out and they have a specific in time too. Considering outside Sathyabama one can get cheaper rooms for stay with some cooks to prepare food.

Alumni/Alumna

This is a really great area to talk about as i was in automobile department so we had competition called baja conducted yearly by Mahindra. Every college use to participate for this event and our college too. In such events our department students from every year use to come with some ideas and forms a team to build a buggy for the competition. Regardless of there seniority they were in a team only for there ideas and knowledge.

Exam Structure

In Sathyabama per semester you will be having 3 unit tests and after that is your final semester examination. Its simple that they don't have long list of tests but for students who are week they do take lot of tests to make them improve. In practical tests you won't feel that you are having a test it just a regular day only thing is you will be given a question paper for which you diffenately will know the answer as the practice for practicals are done by every student in real time. So, nobody feels a burden of it.

Admission

I got the notification for entrance examination by newspaper. Entrance is bit easy compared to any other deemed university. It just a single level examination after which you have to wait for a week for results followed by counselling. Later on in counselling there will be lots of option for various courses as it's a university But if you are pre planned for any course so better come prepared for entrance.

Faculty

4

Talking about the faculties as I said earlier they are friendly and knowledgeable if such combination comes in a bundle the interest of students increases. In our department we had three gold medalist from Anna university Chennai in automotive field they taught us every process in such a practical way that nobody use to study day before the exam as everything was clear at the time of lectures

There is no relevance with the current industry standards and also i chose this course as i saw potential for development and research in this field with the rapid innovation in the AI field. There is a lot of room for improvement like teaching the current industry practices and it's basics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed and covered both fundamental and advanced concepts. We choose elective papers each sem one paper from third sem. That selection of elective papers made us to do case study of real world exposure and competency. The curriculum prepared us for the reasonable real world applications. Also workshops and internships bridged the gap between industry expectations and academics. The teaching methods are really supportive and knowledgeable. On the whole the curriculum was strong and but needs to be imapctful.
