CAD Diploma Experience at IIGJ

The course only required 12th Passing Marks for admission criteria. I got to know about the college and course through my relative who asked me to visit the college and I decided to opt to join the college after looking at the infrastructure facilities. The admission process was very smooth.

I am fascinated with the gem and jewellery industry and hence decided to opt for this course. The student-faculty ratio is also very good at IIGJ around 1:10. the faculties are all highly qualified with good industry as well as academic experience. The students are taught in a personalized way as per the student's requirements, practical training is also highly customised to develop the skills as per industry requirements. The institute helps us develop a portfolio that is essential in the industry.

Students can also opt for a 6 months internship after the diploma course which adds value to the employability and fetches higher packages. IIGJ helps with the internship opportunities, the majority of the companies that take interns are Jewellery designing and manufacturing companies. The stipend can vary from 10-12 thousand a month.

The course that I have enrolled for is 6 months and the student is ready and eligible for jobs and placements right after the completion of the course. The Average package fir the institute is around 2.5 LPA for the diploma course. However this is also based on the individual and any prior experience and can go even higher.

The course I opted for is 6 months course, there was very minimal to low change in the fees in the batch previous to mine, however, the course is expected to get optimised with a change in duration. I didn't opt for any scholarship or financial assistance.

The institute has ample opportunities for sports and extra curricular, the institute organises extra curricular activities throughout the year and festive seasons, however being a part of short term course I might not be able to to be a part of all of them, however I was a part of the cultural events which were organised during Diwali and Navratri

The hostel accommodation is right opposite side of the college hence the distance is easily covered by walking. The facilities are new and the hostel room that I have is a shared room with a private bed, desk, cupboard, and bathroom attached to the room. The hostel has cleaning facilities, mess facilities with 3 meals a day, the food quality are also very good. The institute provided all the required assistance for the hostel accommodation, the process was completed within the same day. The hostel is very affordable.
