Remarks

Our college is OUAT regulated and every year it holds an entrance examination for all the colleges under its regulation. Up to rank 1500 considered as good, in which there is high chance to get admission into in at least one among the good colleges. Our college has cost sharing and general seats, in cost sharing seats college fee is more and an average 115525 per year will be the annual fee where as for general it is 60000 approximately. For the enrollment in the entrance, students can apply in the ouat official website ouat.nic.in . Besides the above two seats, NRI seats are also there which will cost around 5LPA. There is the reservation for PWD, SC, St, for Western Odisha students, green card. The admission process is offline generally. The dates and payment details will be instructed on the website of OUAT. The selection process is very opaque as the college gives preference on the cost sharing seats, and if you locked your seat you will not take part in further selection process even if with a good rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My rank was 1400 so I got to this college and I was somehow excited about agriculture engineering. There are 5 branches of agriculture engineering which are covered extensively, although mechanical and electrical engineering is also there with mathematics. Most of our senior faculties are passed out from this college. They are highly qualified with very high teaching experience. Most are PhD holders. Teachers are in a good number. Midterms which hold 50 marks 30theory and 20 practical occurs in 2-3 months of semester initiation and the external exam is at the end of the semester which contains 50marks. Exams are a little tough, timely study is good to get a better cgpa. Faculty members are very friendly and helpful, they will consult you and guide you for a better career ahead.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Many internships were carried out by IDP NAHEP, in our college for different branches. Students are placed in junior engineers and some alike post in the companies. Students also get a stipend for taking part in the internship.

Placement Experience

2

From the 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements but getting placement is difficult and with a good package is rare. But there are certain fields in which fir agriculture engineering students competition is less like for assistant agriculture engineer and AFO etc. Students can pursue MTech here clearing JRF. Recently companies like escort, VST, AMUL, MAHINDRA have hired 10-15 students with an average package of 5LPA. My plan is to prepare for UPSC after getting a degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study is very high considering a government college. At admission time the cost is around 115000 for a cost-sharing and 75000 for general seats. Excluding the hostel fees which is 36000 per year. And for further readmission, it is 60500 for cost sharing and 22000 for general seats. There is Avery good scope to get govt. Funded scholarships like e-medhabruti for 1st yr which will benefit up to 40000 and post matric scholarship which will benefit 40000/yr. For ICAR students which come from the ICAR quota which is a general seat, by the way, have scholarship 10000/yr. Students can get placement on farm machinery industries or food processing and irrigation and drainage engg. Branches.Although the package is not that attractive.

Campus Life

3

There are many clubs like a cultural club, literary club, sports club etc. In which students can take part. Our college's own website CAET.nic.in also made by students. Life on the college campus is very hectic as 90% attendance is compulsory and so many courses like 10per semester are there. Classrooms are well ventilated and have smart boards. The college has a very good library facility students will get their library cards after getting admitted. Many cultural activities are there throughout the year. Although for the COVID lockdown annual fests are not held these days.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms are good for 4 students for a room. Well electrified and 4 cupboards in a good condition. The mess food is not that good considering the fees. Students interested in the hostel will be provided with a hostel application form at the time of admission. There are around 55 seats in the hostel including both boys and girls hostel. I've not rented any PG but they are available nearby.
