Remarks

Eligibility: Anyone who has passed 12th can apply for the entrance test. Application: By visiting the OJEE website one can fill the form, by paying Rs1000 for the general category. Concession in application fee is also available. Registration starts from the month of April and exam is held in June, usually. Reservation: Category-wise reservation is available for all the courses in the examination and a tuition fee waiver is also available. Improvement: The counseling process starts late which extends the admission process sometimes. This flak could be rectified.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

ECE course is a blend of software and hardware so it has vast job opportunities. This motivated me to take up the course. Faculty: student ratio- ECE department generally has 60 enrollments and the department has around 10 faculties minimum. most of the subjects are taken up by different professors. Most of the teachers are M tech qualified. The teachings are sufficient to get through semester exams. But one has to take coaching if aspiring for GATE or UPSC ESE. sessions- Exams are mostly held on time, One can get passing marks if prepared and studied properly.

Placement Experience

3

start of placements- from 7th-semester placements would start. name of companies- No big companies but mostly startups would visit and some off-campus placements were also organized. Like Qualitas Global, eClerx, Zycus, etc Highest placement- highest placement was 8 LPA and 2.5 LPA was minimum placement offered About 90% of students get placed. My plans- I took up the job and worked as a testing engineer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees- the fee structure is very nominal compared to other private engineering colleges. it will approx take 5 lakh minimum to complete the course. Around 1.5 lakh yearly including hostel and mess charge. Placements- Most students get placed with an average package of 2.5 LPA. I got placed in quality global as a testing engineer with an in-hand salary of 15000 per month for the initial training period.

Campus Life

3

Annual fest- yearly cultural fest would be organized in December. Library /books- Most of the books are available in the library Amenities- classrooms are well equipped. Some laboratories do have insufficient instruments which make it difficult to do the experiments. Sports/activities- Basketball court, cricket playground are present. Regular sports activities are held on campus. Clubs- It has robotics, drama, art, social clubs.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

room facilities- Hostel was moderate. Rooms were provided with a bed, mattress, table, chair. meal- the meal was too moderate, the menu was decided regularly by the hostel head. affordability- While taking admission students have to apply for a hostel. It has 45000 yearly hostel fees, locality- the hostel was close to the college campus so it was easy to move from class to rooms

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Most of people go for PHDs and research after this course so the number of placements is a little less. Also, this unique Integrated Mtech course is new and the first batch of this 5 year course soon will be passed out. They are getting placement offers of 8-8.5 LPA per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
