Remarks

I graduated from Jaipur National University, Jaipur in 2020 from the School of life and basic sciences. I pursued B. Sc(Hons.) Biotechnology from JNU Jaipur. Eligibility of the course is 12th passed only from recognized board. U can apply online too n you can apply at college too. The application process is simple just go there with your full documents and the counselor is helpful in nature and easy to talk. you can get scholarships like early bird and scholarships based on your 12th class marks.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this course because I was interested in this subject. The faculty is good and the ratio is 1:20. Faculties are highly qualified and they teach very well. They will help u in each way possible. They will also share any internship opportunities in India n abroad. They will also tell u about their academic experiences. The smart class is also there. Labs are regularly and seriously held. They take teaching seriously and they complete their courses n syllabus on time. They will provide u with all the contents and tell u about the books to refer Exams are held timely and regularly. There are 2 midterms and internal and external practices and an end-term exam in one sem. There is a a debarring system of students who do not comply with 75% of attendance criteria. Exams are of moderate level not too hard not too easy. I found them easy to score well. The course curriculum is upto date but has space for improvement.

Internships Opportunities

4

So basically I applied for the National academy of sciences summer research fellowship program n got selected in it so i went to KIIT University Bhubaneswar for it and I was not present in college for summer training but as per my friends and what I listened from them the faculties in college try to give a good amount of exposure to research field during internship and guides you well. They have a good module comprising major fields for summer training in college. The college charges for summer training nearly 7k-8k for a month. The internship time is of 1 month only n it takes place at the end of 2nd year in summer vacation before the start of the 3rd year. You can also apply for out of clg internship opportunities but in most of them u have to pay a certain amount of fees. Projects are majorly research-oriented related to biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry and bioinformatics field.

Placement Experience

2.5

Campus placement drives comes every year and a lot of students gets placed but most of the jobs are marketing jobs and bpo jobs. So students who are really in need of job or wnags to gather experience takes up campus placement drive otherwise they plan for further studies. Telemarketing companies n bpo job companies comes majorly like gepact or some insurance company etc and a lot more I don't remember the names now. Highest package offered was 10 lac per annum by byju's for computer engineering students but averagely you can get a job of 3-4 lac per annum. My plans are to go for master's degree in biotechnology n then PhD etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is 40k nearly when joined the college in 2017 yearly but fees keep increasing yearly by 2000-3000 nearly. Apart from fees their is sem wise exam fees which will be nearly 1500 per sem. And a one time enrollment fees of 1100. Cost of study will be nearly 1.7 lac for 3 years. They charge for industrial visits n industrial training of u take part in clg provided training n visit but if u can out of clg any opportunity then you can also take that up. Scholarship is there for newcomers like early bird and scholarship based on your 12th marks. Apart from that yearly topper gets scholarship. There are placement drives but they are mostly marketing related placement jobs.

Campus Life

4

There is library in each campus. In total jnu has 3 campuses n every campus have a central Library where u can find your course related books and magazines and daily newspaper n gk n corporate magazines and research journals. The social life is good there and diverse too because u will find students from most of parts of India so u will have a good exposure in terms of interactions and clg keeps a lot of activities and events for students time to time like festival celebration and poster presentation etc which are academic and non academic too. Apart from that a clg fest known as Technorazz is held every year which happens in the month of September most probably and have a lot of events and u get a chance to explore yourself there n also a lot of inter and intra college competitions also held in techno. I personally loves techno a Lott. Classes are good and well equipped. Sports events like sports week happen in the month of Feb which is quite enjoyable. In all my experience was good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The good things about this curriculum is that it is really unique and interesting. This has many things to feed a mind that is really curious about the world around us. The curriculum has many real world work opportunities. The opportunities are really high class but a few.The curriculum has quite a practical approach to the syllabus.Labs has the necessary equipments and proper guidence from the lab staff. It only require some discipline and some dedication to get the most out of the facilities. The curriculum has alot of scope for improvements. One such improvement is to provide real world experience in the form of internships and visits to different laboratories which will help the students to get some real perspective of what the course is and how one should prepare oneself to get equiped to work with some great employers. The exams are conducted twice a year as per the semester. The difficulty level for the exams are moderate. They are not very simple but doable.

I wanted to graduate from maths subject that was the reason I chose b.sc. course The curriculum of my course does not teach me anything or does not prepare me in any way for the real-world applications. Many improvements can be done in the course curriculum and teaching methods among which the main improvement is to simplify the syllabus. The syllabus should be arranged in a systematic way which should be easy to understand for a student
