Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because I was interested in this subject. The faculty is good and the ratio is 1:20. Faculties are highly qualified and they teach very well. They will help u in each way possible. They will also share any internship opportunities in India n abroad. They will also tell u about their academic experiences. The smart class is also there. Labs are regularly and seriously held. They take teaching seriously and they complete their courses n syllabus on time. They will provide u with all the contents and tell u about the books to refer Exams are held timely and regularly. There are 2 midterms and internal and external practices and an end-term exam in one sem. There is a a debarring system of students who do not comply with 75% of attendance criteria. Exams are of moderate level not too hard not too easy. I found them easy to score well. The course curriculum is upto date but has space for improvement.
Internships Opportunities
So basically I applied for the National academy of sciences summer research fellowship program n got selected in it so i went to KIIT University Bhubaneswar for it and I was not present in college for summer training but as per my friends and what I listened from them the faculties in college try to give a good amount of exposure to research field during internship and guides you well. They have a good module comprising major fields for summer training in college. The college charges for summer training nearly 7k-8k for a month. The internship time is of 1 month only n it takes place at the end of 2nd year in summer vacation before the start of the 3rd year. You can also apply for out of clg internship opportunities but in most of them u have to pay a certain amount of fees. Projects are majorly research-oriented related to biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry and bioinformatics field.
Placement Experience
Campus placement drives comes every year and a lot of students gets placed but most of the jobs are marketing jobs and bpo jobs. So students who are really in need of job or wnags to gather experience takes up campus placement drive otherwise they plan for further studies. Telemarketing companies n bpo job companies comes majorly like gepact or some insurance company etc and a lot more I don't remember the names now. Highest package offered was 10 lac per annum by byju's for computer engineering students but averagely you can get a job of 3-4 lac per annum. My plans are to go for master's degree in biotechnology n then PhD etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is 40k nearly when joined the college in 2017 yearly but fees keep increasing yearly by 2000-3000 nearly. Apart from fees their is sem wise exam fees which will be nearly 1500 per sem. And a one time enrollment fees of 1100. Cost of study will be nearly 1.7 lac for 3 years. They charge for industrial visits n industrial training of u take part in clg provided training n visit but if u can out of clg any opportunity then you can also take that up. Scholarship is there for newcomers like early bird and scholarship based on your 12th marks. Apart from that yearly topper gets scholarship. There are placement drives but they are mostly marketing related placement jobs.
Campus Life
There is library in each campus. In total jnu has 3 campuses n every campus have a central Library where u can find your course related books and magazines and daily newspaper n gk n corporate magazines and research journals. The social life is good there and diverse too because u will find students from most of parts of India so u will have a good exposure in terms of interactions and clg keeps a lot of activities and events for students time to time like festival celebration and poster presentation etc which are academic and non academic too. Apart from that a clg fest known as Technorazz is held every year which happens in the month of September most probably and have a lot of events and u get a chance to explore yourself there n also a lot of inter and intra college competitions also held in techno.
