Remarks
Eligibility of BSc in Biotechnology includes 50% aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in HSC board examination or equivalent degree. No entrance exam is needed for admissions in BSc. So, I was determined to take admissions to take admission here. So, I went to college and tried to understand all procedures of admission on my own. So there only in the admin office when I asked, I got to know about admission fees. I thought it was reasonable to me then I asked them to let me know about admission forms and procedures and to meet whom. Then, they directed me to the admission room for further enquiry. The admission form has to be filled by students only through online mode from the respective college websites. Then take the printout of the submitted application form and provide this to the college admin so that they can do verification of individual admission. And we have to pay 1st sem fees at the time of admission only. Then 2nd sem fee at the starting of 2nd sem.
Course Curriculum Overview
Biotechnology is an uprising field and I wanted to study biology so I decided to choose this course. Faculty to student ratio is one too many. Faculties here are educated till PhD. And have Dr. in their initials. The teaching method is awesome. I am very much grateful that I have them as my teachers and mentors because they will guide me to the best pathway. Exams are quite often which may be a good thing for studios students and bad for students attending classes just for their attendance. Also, in my case, these exams are not very difficult to pass. All questions in the exam are based on lecture notes told by teachers and PPT shown by respective subject teachers so it becomes quite easy to pass exams and score well just by having good notes and reading the teacher's PPT.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for on campus interviews when they have completed graduation and started masters or are going to complete it. There are alot of companies visited in my college and it did selected many students but selection process is truly based on how does the candidate performs while giving interview. Highest package given by company is of Rs 30,000 per month. I am willing to study till masters. Till then no jobs for me.
Fees and Financial Aid
My fees in college are Rs 55,000/- annually which includes Rs 30,000/- fees of sem 1 (has to be paid at the time of admission) and Rs 25,000/- fees of sem 2 (to be paid at starting of sem 2) As I am from the general category, I am not eligible for any kind of scholarship provided by the college and other reserved categories can apply for scholarships. I don't require any On Campus Jobs for I didn't apply for them. But yes, there are some jobs available. But one disadvantage is that job will provide you less income because you are only 12th pass out student. So job requirements will be low. Again, interested students can make jobs available for them.
Campus Life
There is no such annual fair conducted by the college officially. The most important thing which I do like in college is it's library because it contains 65,000 books on each every topic and each and every author based on our curriculum and 50,000 journals which will enhance our knowledge and reading capacity. Therefore we don't require to purchase textbooks from outside stores. There are various sports and cultural activities going in college in the month of December and January. This will ensure physical fitness of the students.
Other Applied Colleges
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University | Bsc Biotechnology
I didn't opt for this college because it's annual fees was quite high.
