Life in GMC Surat

Took admission via Gujcet examination, now admissions through neet ug examination. Application form, fees and dates are all corresponding to neet ug examination website. I have not availed any reservation benefits.

I chose it because I wanted to do medicine. The faculty-student ratio is adequate. All the faculties are qualified and some of them have great teaching methods. Term exams were timely, earlier than all the colleges in Gujarat. They are of moderate difficulty and have almost 95% passing.

The whole internship in surat is in New Civil Hospital, Surat. The stipend is 13000 per month. It is in various departments like general surgery, general medicine, obstetrics-gynecology, PSM, pediatrics, ent, ophthalmology, psychiatry, skin and vd, orthopedics, emergency medicine. An internship gives a lot of work and learning and hands-on experience in every department, one of the best in Gujarat.

During my admission fees were 6k per annum and now the fees are hiked to 25k per annum for a batch of 250 students. The internship stipend was 13k per annum during 2020-21. I being UnReserved didn't avail of any scholarship but reserved people do get scholarships and free books from the library.

The annual fest is eucrasia conducted every year in March-April. The library is fully-fledged with the latest books in each subject. Classrooms have projectors and smart teaching. A new College building has recently been set up. Sports weeks and fest are organized 3 times a year. There is a huge playground in the campus. With cricket ground, football ground, volleyball ground, table tennis, etc. There are music groups, dance groups, and literary groups running in the college.

Rooms are twin sharing with common bathrooms on a floor. Meal quality in the mess are good. There are 8+ mess in the campus which provides good variety of food which is cheap as well. Hostel are registered along with the admission rooms are cheap and with new infrastructure. Locality is Majura Gate which is in the heart of the city, a great locality which has access to all the great places of the city easily and nearby.
