Remarks

I applied for st. Marys Yousufguda in the same course as B.Com but the minimum marks criteria was 70% so I had to drop it. In EThames that wasn't the case as they enrolled almost anyone with bare minimum marks and age wasn't a problem factor as I've seen my friends join the college being 2-3 years older than me. The admission process was very smooth and professional I must say, my counselor was Mrs Laxmi and she made me understand all the rules and regulations of the college before and even after the counseling day.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm very average at studies so I chose a course that wouldn't be a burden on my mental health. The faculty of EThames is extremely friendly and professional and I've been looking upto them since the first day. There aren't many new faculties changed throughout the semesters because it's usually the same ones teaching but given the size of the classes and limited sections it's adequate and I don't see any reason for employing any further crew. They're very educated and make efforts into making notes for us, making whatsapp groups for interaction, fun quizzes for the students and just in general really nice. But they're also very strict nonetheless and I've found myself in problematic situations being a troublemaker. The term exams always felt like they happened yesterday and everything was going by too quickly. I found french and income tax exams to be the most challenging for me personally.

Internships Opportunities

1

I personally didn't opt for any internships at my college and always ignored them because it'd usually be unpaid with the chance of a certificate of internship. The paid internships would have ridiculously long hours and very low pay such as 5000-7000 per month which wasn't really worth it for me.

Placement Experience

2.5

From the final year, companies contact the college, and mails are sent to us to engage in jobs. There is a separate placement cell in the campus for the more enthusiastic students. Companies like justdial, JAROeducation, zomato, Monster etc make offers. The highest that I've knowledge was as a fresher for 10 lpa for zomato. Most students here are here from a business background so they usually carry on in that field so there's a very less percentage of students opting for placements and even lesser being placed. I hope to gain experience in the market and soon run a business of my own.

Fees and Financial Aid

So for a 3-year course like mine, it's 1 lakh per month for 3 years resulting to a total cost of 3 lakhs. It's definitely on the expensive side compared to the other options. They include the security cost of 20,000 which is refundable upon graduation. They don't charge textbook fees separately it's all included. I definitely applied for jobs that were recommended by my college but couldn't get enrolled. There was particularly this one offer from zomato with the package of 10 lpa which got all the students riled up.

Campus Life

4

Jashn is an annual fest completely handled by the students. The business fest is also held in the college itself where students get to put up their own stalls to experience entrepreneurship first hand. Other events like cultural day, Teachers day etc are celebrated thoroughly. The college has a fairly large library on the ground floor. I personally found many informative and fun books with vast variety. Classrooms in EThames all have good lighting, cusioned seating with A/C and a smartboard with projector. Sports clubs are available for students to join and engage in activities. Sports day is held once a year between January and February. The campus has a table tennis and pool table.
