MAHESWARAN D's Review On Amrita School Of Engineering - [ASE], Coimbatore

I took AEEE (Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination). This Entrance Examination is for admission in Amrita Schools of Engineering (Coimbatore, Bangalore, Amritapuri and also for recently proposed campus in Chennai). This entrance examination is basically conducted on 3rd sunday of the month of April. The results of AEEE be published after a period of 20 days from the date of Examination).

The course Structure or the curriculum is well designed and which is been revised for every 5 years of time. The curriculum mainly focuses on the Basic Engineering in the first year and the core area for the next 3 years. Our curriculum is basically upto the standard of NIT's(national institute of technology). The course structure is taken care by the committee headed by HOD and other senior professor of our college.

Yes, the College used to arrange Internships during summer vacations and winter vacations from students by a separate body of the institution called CIR(corporate and industrial relations). I don't think so that there is a stipend for students to work for the company. Its Basically WIN-WIN situation where we used to learn some technologies from industry.

Placements in amrita is pretty good for Electrical branches and for computer science.CIR takes care of the placement Mostly all the eligible candidates(Students having more than 6 cpga) mostly will be placed atleast in any one of the IT companies. The mass recruiters are Wipro,Cognizant, Infosys, TCS. They pay a pay-packet of about 3.5 lakhs per annum.

The fees structure in amrita is quiet expensive. The fees is 160000 per year (excluding hostel and mess) This includes the tuition fees, medical fees, Examination fees and the university fees. The hostel and mess fees will come around 90000 per year. Now it has been increased to 250000 per year for the freshers.

The campus life as a day scholar is exciting. We have our college in the foothills of western ghats. A beautiful scenic place where we used to see many species of unknown birds. Of course,It is a Eco friendly Institution, the management has transform barren land into a man-made tropical forest in less than 10 years by planting, establishing and conserving more than 1.5 lakh trees in the campus.

Every department maintains the network of alumni. In our department, we have a event called CHEM-CONNECT in our college, the invitations are sent to the passed out students and many people used to take part in the event.

The most advantageous part of Amrita School of Engineering is the standard of faculty we have. The faculties are easily approachable and kind, Very well-equipped in various course areas and in research sector. The Lectures they used to give will be so prefect and upto the point. They have got good technical,communicative knowledge.
