I scored around 60 percent in my pre-university qualifications. Since I had opted for science(PCMB), all the fields were wide open for me.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was elaborate and went into a lot of detail. The research material available is exhaustive and the teachers are more than willing to provide additional information. With a well-stocked library and notes from the teachers, you will never run out of content.
Internships Opportunities
The college, when I graduated, did not provide intern-ship but the scene might have changed now. Also, it is a very well reputed college so many famous companies are more than willing to offer students with the intern-ship opportunity.
Placement Experience
Placements are excellent. Being a well-known college has its advantages, the biggest one being that companies trust the talent that these colleges nurture so expect some big names to come hunting for you if you perform well. Not just this, you will be provided with hands-on training so you will be okay even if you want to search for a job on your own.
College Events
The college is big on cultural activities and this is one of the best parts of this college. Samanvaya is their annual fest and celebrates art, drama, music, theatre and dance. Student participation is heavily encourages and you will end up forgetting everything but the amazing time you will end up having. being a part of this fest.
Campus Life
Campus life is full of fun. It will bring out the best in you. You will get to mingle with all types of people. Keep an open mind and just plunge in. Be friendly and bold to make the most of your experience. There are various activities you can be a part of, such as inter-collegiate debates, quiz competitions, dance and singing competitions. This aspect of this college is laudable as it makes the student get out of the comfort zone.
Hostel Facilities
There are many eating places in and around the facility. From the in-house canteen to the various tiny shops dotting the local area. The cost is student-friendly. You may need to watch your junk intake though. If you want to perform well, you may need to explore and short-list on the food that keeps you calm and allows you to focus on your studies.
Alumni/Alumna
The students who are a part of Jain usually form close networks. What with the advent of digital age, there are plenty of avenues to encourage this. So you are likely to be well-supported in whatever you do.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is designed to test the students on the knowledge they accumulate over the months so expect some elaborate grilling. Yes, you will need to study regularly to pass the course and you better be prepared to work hard if you want to ace the course and walk away with stellar placements but believe me, you, it is well worth it.
Admission
There was an initial application round followed by an interview of the candidate. This was followed by another interview of me along with my parents. The questions asked were quite general, they were probably trying to assess my personality. You should do some basic preparation to avoid sounding too nervous.
Faculty
Expect strict teachers because they have been instructed to be firm with the students about academics and teaching. But otherwise, they are a friendly lot. Very warm and approachable and genuinely interested in helping. If you want a doubt cleared, you can speak to them without hesitation.
