Remarks

To take admission into our college via lateral entry you got to have a qualification of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Plastic Engineering (depending on the respective departments). You have to take an All India CIPET JEE Examination conducted by the CIPET for getting admission. I secured the 1st position All India in this examination iso I didn't have to get any kind of quota for examination. Past CIPET students are somewhat preferred. There is no upper age limit for the examination. After the examination, a merit list is posted on the official website. Depending upon this, the admission is done. For the counselling process, all the documents are verified both physically as well as digitally.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The main reason to choose Btech in Manufacturing & Technology was that I did Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. This Btech course is multidimensional in its aspect as after the course you can have a job of a production engineer, assistant engineer, line in charge engineer, or the best of all a design engineer. The college that achieved NAAC ranking is now a tier 2 college. The faculties are all highly trained and experienced professionals, either past industry engineers or PhD professors. The quality of education is not compromised at all. One reason I choose this college is because of its research aspects. And the faculties never shut the bright ideas. They promote all kinds of projects and startups. But, as a student, you have to get involved with them and bring the best out of them. During online classes, all faculties are provided with a pen tab and they know how to deliver the course in the best way possible.

Placement Experience

3.5

From the 7th Semester, the students are eligible for the placement rounds. It is preferred not to have a backlog by then. Also, the placement criteria depend upon the company that comes. An average annual CTC of 5 lakh per annum is being given. Our seniours have got 5.5 lakh from the college campus itself. Also, the placements are increasing day by day. Some students have also got more packages by enrolling themselves Out Campus Placement procedure. A good 7-8lakh package. My plan is to be prepared for both the campus as well as the out campus placements. Companies like Lohia corp. ltd, Sterlite Techologies, Adverb Technologies and others. The placement percentage is above 90% and the rest for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not much is known for the fees hike as it hasn't increased much in recent years. Well, a semester fee of around 28500 seems a bit too high concerning the college facilities that we get. During admission, 37890 was charged and that included all. Extra examination fees and all are not charged separately. It is all taken at once. The Odisha govt. provides scholarships to students of only Odisha. The girls can avail Pragati Scholarship centrally. The college provided a TFW scheme for few students. But, you have to get few quotes in it. The best recommended is studying in studying on a Student's Loan as it is a central institute. The loan gets sanctioned easily. Also, Hostel Accommodation charges are 12000 per semester excluding food charges. You can avail fooding from college canteen at the rate of 2200 approx which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. But, I highly recommend not to as you can understand by the phrase "Hostel mess"

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest consists of 2-3 day event. Where there are variets of games and competions organised. Its the best time. As of sports Short cricket, Carrom, Chess, Rubick Cube, Volleyball and classical PC games warfare. The library is huge and is very well organised and consists of all the relatable materials that we can need for the entire course of engineeing. Also, many journouls are suscribed to it. There is Nature and Photography Club. There is also an Ecommerce Website run by the students of CIPET as a part of startup named as MoShelf and its website is www.moshelf.com . There are also few students who are intrested in bike rides and travelling. The classrom is equipped with smart board and projector and is well maintained. Well lit ares and CCTV cameras in every room.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
