Brief introduction about JNU.

I applied to Jaipur National University, it is a private university and there are no minimum marks and age for admission. Early bird scholarship was given based on the 12th percentage. After applying for the course, the admission procedure was followed involving the submission of mark sheets and PI rounds.

I choose BSc bioinformatics because it was a different subject and includes the field of interest. The faculty is good, all the faculty is PDH level or Mtech level. As the number of students was less in the class it was easy to interact with the faculty. The teaching methods follow theoretically as well as practical approaches and seminars also. For each semester, 2 midterm exams are conducted followed by internal practicals and end sem exams and practicals. The difficulty level depends on the making of the question paper, but it is not very difficult to pass, a basic understanding of the topic can lead you to obtain good marks.

The internship is provided by the college in the 4th semester for 1 month without any stipend. Industrial trips are organised by the college in the 2nd semester as part of the curriculum. Internships are provided as an intern or trainee.

The final year students are eligible for campus placements. The placement is good for Btech and Mtech but for BSc and MSc, it is not good, very fewer companies come on the campus. During covid times, virtual placements were held by some of the companies like Tech Mahindra, Aculife Healthcare Pvt.Ltd., PRATHAM U/O IIFM Ltd., Kotak Life, and many more.

The yearly fee is 48000, which can be deposited semester wise or fully yearly. There is some hike in the fee every year. At the time of admission, the Early bird scholarship was given based on the 12th percentage. Campus placement is good for Btech but less for BSc level.

Campus life is very good. The annual fest is Technorazz that is held every year in September for 3 days. The libraries are good it includes a great variety of books, there is one separate section which includes the very good books but that cant be issued, they can be read in the library itself. Every student can get 2 books on their id card. The classrooms are good, ducting is provided in the computer labs and auditorium. Many sports activities take place, Every year sports day is celebrated for 3 days named sports grafia. And inter college sports competition like for volleyball, cricket, basketball is held.

The admission process includes just the interview round, in which some questions were asked like why do you want to take admission in this college? when did you complete your 12th, just the basic questions are asked, nothing hard.
