Remarks
Students from any stream i.e. Science, Arts, or Commerce are eligible for BCA with a minimum of 45% in HSC from any recognized board/university. The admission process is quite simple. You need to submit certified copies of your 10th and 12th mark sheets, college leaving certificate, adhaar card, passport size photos of both student and their parents along with the admission form from the college. Reserved category students can submit their copy of the caste certificate to avail reservation or fee concession.
Course Curriculum Overview
Students who are interested in learning about the software can opt for BCA course. Though the curriculum is quite outdated it consists of a variety of programming languages like C, Python, Java to new-age technologies like IoT, Artificial Intelligence, etc. A new add-on course is also added every semester which has scope at that particular time. The faculty members are highly qualified and have good knowledge of the industry. They are also very helpful and kind. We have 4 computer labs dedicated to our practical subjects.
Internships Opportunities
Both paid and unpaid internship opportunities are available for BCA students to gain experience and knowledge. So students can opt for internships of their choice according to their liking and requirement.
Placement Experience
The minimum requirement for getting a placement is 60%. Students become eligible for campus placements from the final year of their BCA course. Many MNC's like Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc come to the college to hire students. Students can expect a package of 2 lakhs to 3.7 lakhs pa depending upon the company and the position that they are being offered. Even I got selected in the placement drive by Wipro and was offered the role of scholar trainee under the Wipro Wilp program. So students can either start working or go for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Needy students can opt for the loan facility from the college and pay the fees in installments. Many students with good marks can get scholarships. My only complaint is that even though all our final year lectures were conducted online due to the pandemic, they refused to reduce our fees. The teachers always inform us about the various internship opportunities which can be both paid and unpaid but are beneficial for our future.
Campus Life
The college has an annual fest called Jigyasa which is held in the month of December. Many events and activities are organized during this fest. Seminars are also conducted and people from various industies are invited to guide students. The BCA department has a club called "Infomaniac" where teachers and students work together to organize quizzes, competitions and events for the students. The college has a library, gym, auditorium, sports room, dome and computer labs. The campus is quite small which is why it gets crowded during fests and functions. We also have a BCA department website which is made by the students of BCA itself.
