Pros and Cons of B.tech from Shambhunath institute of engineering and technology.

Among two famous colleges of Allahabad, One is United institute of technology and Shambhunath institute of engineering and technology, I chose Shamabhunath, as it is within the city and reachable in less, and it has many government organizations around it like Air-force station, a manufacturing unit of Indian railways, etc., which makes it a location worth selecting. Most admissions are done based on scores you earned in various entrance exams., also very few seats are there for direct admissions. On the day of counselling, I was just present there with the required documents like mark sheets and certificates of 10th and 12th, character certificates, Transfer/Migration certificate, the result of the exam given if any, rank card of the exam given etc. and that's it. The administrative officials will provide us with some documents and after filling and submitting it along with registration fees of around INR 10000, which will be included in fees, the admission process is complete. Joining is easy

The course curriculum is vibrant. You have options like Mechanical engineering(ME), Electrical engineering(EE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE/EN), Electronics and communications engineering(EC), Computer science engineering(CS) and Civil engineering(CE). I chose Electrical and Electronics engineering. the maximum seat limit for each branch is different and so is the faculty: student ratio. It's a matter of honour that each faculty member is either a Master or Doctorate in their respective fields. About term exams, they are always on time and it's not very easy or very hard to clear the exam but the difficulty level is moderate.

It's a demerit of the college that there is no internship with stipend opportunity for Btech students. But iI hopes that shortly such kind of opportunities will be available for the students.

Students become eligible for placements in the final year only. Because companies come to college to recruit the final students only. Although college starts providing placement assistantships from the third year, like test preparations and mock interviews. Some of the major recruits were done edge telecom, LNJ Bhilwara, Hero motor corp, Emerson with the highest package of 4.6 lakh per year(LPA) which I think is a good payback. I have got the placement of 4.6 lpa in edge telecom. Percentage matter in placement. Around 70 % till the semester you have passed till the day of interview.

The fee structure is nominal as any other engineering college. Since it is affiliated with dr. A.P.J. Abdul kalam technical university. The fee hike will be governed and controlled by the university, and not by the college to avoid unnecessary "Loot". the fee structure is less than a Lakh each year which makes it affordable for students. For some minority students, a fee waiver is also available. Scholarships are there. But I haven't availed scholarship nor fee waiver. After the third year of Btech, one month of vocational training is compulsory for every student from any of the organizations nationwide and as per the will of students, but it's unpaid. So I suggest joining this college in terms of pay

Campus life is amazing. Other than study, there are sports and other curricular activities as well. Cricket, basketball, badminton, athletics, dancing, singing, modelling, acting etc. are conducted and guided by senior students and performed during 3 days of tech fest in March and April. Many knowledge books, magazines, journals and newspapers about business, sports, technology, politics are available in Library. Classrooms are good in size and comfortable for the strength of any branch. Well, there is no such clubs or groups run by the students. But the website of the colleges has been amended by the students of the college once.
