Entrance Preview

I had given CAT as well as CET. However, got in this institute through college GD & PI selection process. I had selected this institute as a last resort and try for an MBA in 2012 (i was actually going to take a break & try next year for the best institutes) . Since it was said to be in top 10 in mumbai, i joined the course once i got admission. The process was similar to all other institutes normal GD followed by PI.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements is just average. For me it was a good placement after a lot of wait (in may). Honestly i doubt even if 80% would be placed during my year. The placement coordinator was really good and it is because of her contacts only that we even got some good companies coming to campus. Had the emphasis been on the student's & faculty, better companies would have definitely come.

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio was almost 50-50. People from diverse background were a part of the college. More or less, since the college was based out of mumbai, there were no issues related to cast, race, gender, ethnicity, religion etc. It was a completely tolerant & safe place for students to study. In my 2 years, did not hear about a single case of sexual or physical assault.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes - there is a good alumni network established. It may not be be of that IIM level. But the college takes reasonable efforts to maintain a network.

Faculty

2.5

Faculty is strictly average. In my 2 years, i saw some very good faculty leaving the institute as there were also annoyed with the management, School teacher like again. The industry professors were again very to the point and theory oriented. Hardly 10-15% of faculties were taking pains to get in live examples from the corporate & industry. Again the best profs were given to marketing stream HR & Ops were the last option.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements after completing 2nd semester and entering in 3rd semester. Attendance is compulsory for getting the opportunity for placements. The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.

Overall, I would say that I think this is a very unique course being offered by SP Jain and they are very strict with the submission timelines and quality of work. This is definitely is not a run off the mill part time MBA. The institute makes sure you sweat to earn your degree, respectfully!
