Remarks :
I studied at Mukand lal national college and I was attending full time classes. Mukand Lal College is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in Yamunanagar city. Its location was at the heart of the city. I was in a general category. The minimum requirement for admission was 60% marks and no minimum age was required for admissions. The process of admission was simple as I have to fill the forms and submit my report card for the 10th and 12th classes. There were interviews before admission where they ask simple questions regarding activities, sports and views of students regarding the outlook of college. The campus was extremely well maintained with lush green grounds and huge classrooms. The faculty was well educated and experienced with help me to inculcate moral values with studies.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I opted for B.com in tourism as I love travelling and want to explore the world. This course was one step towards my dream and I've heard about the faculty of mukand lal college from my friends that they were extremely good so I choose this subject at this college. Classes were well organised as each class had a maximum of 30 students and classrooms were well maintained will proper air conditioning and digital equipment for students. The faculty was well experienced and educated with a lot of patience to handle every student properly. Most of the teachers were highly qualified with at least a masters degree and they were updated with the latest technology to explain to students about the course in a more practical way. They spend extra time with students to clear their doubts and questions. There was a semester system that happened twice per year mostly exams were in May and November. The concepts of subjects were very clear so I never struggled to appear in exams and to pass them
Placement Experience :
Campus placement for students starts from the 5th semester or 3rd year of the course. Different companies visit colleges and held interviews with students and make decisions based on interviews. Around 10% of the students were placed directly from campus to companies. Companies like Tata steel co. , Parle agro, max life insurance, Kotak Mahindra bank Pvt. Ltd and many more companies hire students from campus every year. They make offers for the post of agents, managers, developers, recruitment team. The highest package was offered to one of my friends at that time which was 10 lakhs per annum from IBM company. The average package was around 6 lakhs per annum to most of the students who were hired. The direct placement was given to around 10% of students from campus rest gave interviews after completing the courses. After completing of degree I want to join the tourism industry and explore cities around the world as per my work.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The structure of the fees at college was very simple and affordable as per my course which was B.Com in tourism it was around 8000 per annum. As most of the colleges around the city were not properly maintained and did not have efficient staff so I opted for this college as it had a great reputation in the city. Fees were nominal and worthy, I've spent around 25000 on my three year course at college. Timings of my subjects were from 10 am till 3 pm after that college provides opportunities to students to help staff with some college work for which they pay students a little amount so that burden of fees doesn't lie on their pockets. This was a huge plus point as I helped staff with their paperwork and use to earn half of my fees on my own. Sometimes I was allotted the role of inspection teacher during exams of my junior classes. I remember I was paid 500 at that time for each session.
Campus Life :
A fest name ' The Great Outdoor Event' was conducted every year at the college. This event has been hosted since around the 1950s after few years of establishment. It was conducted in September and was very special for every student who wants to showcase their talent in sports or acting. I had participated in a 200 metre race and won a silver medal twice. There was a huge library at the faculty which was full of books from ancient time till date. There were ample journals of Hitler, Akbar, Jawahar Lal Nehru and many more personalities. There were around 200 classrooms on campus that were fully equipped with the latest technology projectors and boards. There were many sports activities like soccer, rugby, tennis, cricket and much more. Each of them had separate events in which the student showcase their talent and achieve success at national levels. There was a group name LSA (local students association) which were run by students of the college for the presentation of youth talent
