Remarks
First of all as the name and the area of the College situated suggest everyone to get into. The collge has been consistently ranked in top 10 Colleges in India every time. I have joined a flagship program which the institution provided to us i.e B.com. I have applied for St. Joseph Trichy too. But when you see the ranking and placement opportunities this College has no competitors in the whole of Tamil Nadu. In reality of the admission process, the College only give more preference to the Catholic Christians. In our class of 150, almost 85% of students are Christians. So mark does matter but if you're a Catholic Christian you got some edge over others. The admission process totally went for one whole day where you need to attend a personal Interview and some document verification after you got provisionally got into the College. The minimum attendence of every student must be at least 80% in order to appear for the semester examination. In a nutshell, you can definitely consider this College for UG and PG courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
The b.com Course was the one I was looking forward to doing in my UG which directs me to my career goal. The faculty and the student ratio is about 1:80 wherein 2 sections are there for B.com in Shift 1. The qualification of the faculty is very much good. All the faculty we have are holding a Phd. Degree and done many research and publications. Their teaching method is good as their experience speaks a lot. When you talk about exams they have divided this into 2 categories. One is semester exam in which 50% weightage of the marks are been taken and there will be 2 Internal test conducted by the college and 2 internal assessment( eg. Class test, assignment, project, seminar etc) have 50% weightage, these 2 combined will give you the one whole semester grade.
Internships Opportunities
I will list some companies who are the recruiters of the college: TCS, Wipro, CAMS, Deloitte, Cognizant, RBS, Indegene,Flex, ICICI bank, ZOHO, Boston Consulting Group,EY, Infosys, LT, KPMG, Odessa, Sutherland, PWC, Goldman Sachs, BNB PARIBAS, Agility, IQVIA, Zoom RX, ZIFO, Socitie Gnerale,KPMG, Inatech.
Placement Experience
When comes to placement this College has its own advantage. More than 20 to 30 companies visit the colleges and recruit more no. Of students. From the 2nd yr itself, placement are given to students. Personally, for me, I'm not interested in placement because after B.com I'm going to do an MBA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The fees for the 1st shift are comparatively very low as it's government-aided. 10k/semester approximately. For the 2nd shift, it is 40k/semester in which you can apply for various scholarships program which the college will offer you at the time of studying. These fees are charged reasonably.
Campus Life
If i just want to tell the life at Loyola. I would probably tell it's heaven. The college has a large variety of co-curricular activities wherein I have not seen a whole week without any fest or something. The college follows a strict policy that a student should complete atleast 60 hours on his club which chosen by the student in order to get graduated from the college.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are good 24/7 Water facilities. 10/10 for the mess they have. There are 3 types of Mess you can choose. I.e Veg, NoN-veg and Metro. 2 students in one room provided which is sort of spacious too. Availability of hostel is not much only a few are given hostel based on how much distance they are into college. Although there are more good private hostels outside the college.
Interview Experience
Only for B.com, they have conducted a small interview wherein this was conducted because to know the how much knowledge the students have brought up. So that the teachers can teach accordingly. Formal interview questions were based on the 12th. More of case study questions were asked.
Other Applied Colleges
St. Joseph Trichy | B.com
I preferred Loyola College Chennai because it has a edge over ranking and placement.
