Remarks

I had not applied for any college until June, I was suggested this college by a relative in Erode, where I had traveled to apply for B.E. Mechanical Engineering. The admission was done based on the management quota. In college, we had a brief discussion regarding the prerequisites for taking up the course (ie, aptitude in core subjects, cutoffs, etc). The course syllabus and structure over the span of four years were debriefed and explained. The minimum cutoff for B.E. Mechanical Engineering was 167, I did not opt for counseling and hence only had a short discussion regarding my aptitude, interests, and ideas related to the course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have a keen and inherent interest in the field of mechanical engineering, which is the primary reason for me to take up the course. The department is well equipped with more than sufficient faculty of standard caliber and expertise, for theoretical as well as practical/ laboratory classes. The faculty members are well qualified and most importantly, really helpful and caring. They are always willing to help out and clarify doubts of the students at their immediate availability/ convenience. They also conduct supplementary tests, tutorials, and Internal assessments on a regular basis. Due to my interest and my drive. I usually found it normal to score good marks provided the amount of work and effort I have put in.

Placement Experience

4

The placement is one of the reliable aspects of this institution. The students are eligible for placement after their third year. There are many companies that are regular at recruiting students from this college on-campus and off-campus and also based on TNSLPP(Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme), a few notable ones being- Wipro, Hexaware, Ysli Automotive Pvt Ltd, IBM, and Tata Consultancy. The percentage of students being accepted in placements has been consistently over 90%.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships available for the students who enrolled via counseling, unfortunately, I do not have complete details about them. The scholarships can be availed during the semester, depending on your previous semester marks. The financial aids provided are mostly based on concession, by which the student can raise a plea/request in case of having any difficulty in making fee payments on the due date. This amenity can also be exercised if the amount paid as installment is also large compared to the cash in hand for the student. Overall, the fee amount is really affordable and an advantageous aspect of this institution.

Campus Life

4.5

There are several events that are held on the campus, normally there is the Annual day and Sports day, many clubs are present and would conduct various events, providing a great platform for students to showcase their talents. There's the NCC, Green Club, Fine Arts Club, Rotaract Club, Toastmaster's Club to name a few. There are also department-oriented clubs like the SAE(Society of Automotive Engineers) club and FAME(Fabulous Association of Mechanical Engineers) for mechanical engineering. The library is computerized centrally, with several reference books and functionalities, many of the recent technical journals are available. The classrooms are more than sufficiently equipped with desks that can be shared by three people, hence being able to hold more than 50 students per class. Along with a blackboard, there's a digital board enabled via a projector. Sports are an integral part of every student, especially for hostellers, who have unrestricted access to the sports room and gear and also the gym.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms are quite big and spacious despite the condition to have a maximum of 4-5 members per room. There's the unrestricted supply of drinking water. There is the regular provision of edibles like milk and coffee in the morning, snacks, milk, and tea in the evening. The snack items vary on the basis of a timetable that will be intimated through the notice board. The restrooms are adequate in number, with satisfactory facilities, and are regularly sanitized, it's also up to the students to employ proper toilets after cleaning procedures to be made usable shortly later. The hostel registration is done exclusively although it's done while applying for the college. The parents and students can make a prior visit to the hostel to discuss with the Deputy Warden about the details and requirements for hostel stay, students must be in possession of their own utensils for eating, although under dire circumstances a temporary plate would be provided for the students. The meals are vegetarian and well cooked.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I influenced by my friends who joined in this course ,later on I adjusted with it ,the curriculum prepares students in which they are capable to understand in their own way with which they build up projects and expos and many more events conducted by the other collages to participate in it. It is a tough situation to deal with it because the minimal gap between the sessionals is 1.5 month so for students it a stress to cover the syllabus of all subjects and with project works etc.
