Remarks
I gave CMAT exam, applied to the S. R. Luthra Institute of Management and the reason was I want to study in Surat and the city, SRLIM is one of the good institutes. The trusted name for the quality of education and also for placements. I am not falling under any category, so I am not eligible for a quota. Minimum criteria are the completion of graduation in any field, and CMAT or CAT is a must as such no such minimum marks are fixed in number it is marit base score which varies every year. The admission process was quite simple. After CMAT we need to follow the instruction on the ACPC website. It is managing the system centrally. We can select the college of our choice and as I get selection I went there and filled the application form with supporting documents and I got confirmation in 2 days and got an appointment for counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview
After B.Com I wanted to join corporates and I found MBA programme will help me to groom my personality So, I choose to go for MBA. The faculty was quite good in numbers. For each subject expert faculty was allotted. Approx 18 faculty for 120 students. The admin staff was excluded in 18. All faculties are well qualified. Education-wise and otherwise as well. Some are MEMBER OF SGCCI, few are interested in writing. The qualification wise after completing many have completed PhD and many are pursuing. Exams were conducted semester wise as per university guideline. Before university exams, there were Internal exams, Presentations, Submission of projects. Passing in subjects was not that difficult because I did attend lectures regularly and the major portion was completed. Everyone was very helpful and ready to sole doubts.
Internships Opportunities
Many banks like HDFC, Bandhan, Financial institute IIFL, Motilal Oswal, Digital marketing firm visited But being HR Student I did not found any good opportunity there so, I found an internship through reference and it was not paid. My project was on Employee satisfaction: Conclusion was that in the initial phase employee focus more on monitory benefits on other hand with experience position designation, values matter most.
Placement Experience
After clearing 2nd-semester companies to start to come for placement. Toppers, IIFL, HFFC, Asian paints, Saint Gobain, HDFC Bank, Kotak life insurance, Korak securities, Bandhan Bank, IDFC First bank etc. More than 45 companies did come offer made to many students. The placement ratio is 97%. The average package according to me Rs. 280000 to Rs. 350000. The highest placement was of toppers of Rs. 900000, I got placement but due to covid did not continue, but I search another job and started working.
Fees and Financial Aid
Cost to study was worth to make cost because we were having good preparation for exams, placements and personality growth. There was no hike in fees during my study. The fees structure is as per the standard set by University. Only Rs. 3000 was extra for the library deposit. To my knowledge, there was no scholarship. In few cases when some students get late to pay fees Institute give flexibility for few days. I was an HR student. So, did not get many opportunities within placement for HR so I did throw my reference and My Internship was unpaid.
Campus Life
After December multiple events Institute organized like in January Stractical and Horizon either in January or February, It is an inter-college event of 2 days with many management funda along with fun. The organization of such events also did give many learnings, books of Syllabus was available. But books of the changed portion was not available for a long time. In the case of Journals, many were available. In fact, Online subscription to many programs is available. Classrooms were well is having organized and well equipped with a projector, marker, whiteboard, comfortable sitting. We had very little opportunity to play as we had a full-time MBA program. But we had sports day to celebrate. SRLIM page on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn as well. SRLIM Alumni community is also there on Facebook.
