Remarks
This college has constantly provided good Doctors and also every year the university toppers come from this college. But I would also like to mention one thing that is the building is very small as compared to any medical college. Every year through NEET students enrol here, according to your NEET score, you get admission. I was getting many other colleges & all Deemed University but I chose this college over all the others because of the following reasons : - Staff here is good, - No ragging, - Beautiful place with cold weather throughout the year, - The degree of HPU is very reputed all over India. - Less Populated and less polluted area, - Very fast developing area, - Many famous doctors studied here - Affordable place to live - There are many historic Places here like a jail of 1847 turned into Museum now - No crime on Student ever reported here, - Only an hour distant from both Chandigarh and Shimla, While selecting the college, I also got to know about this college from Collegedunia.
Course Curriculum Overview
I never in my life consumed allopathic medicines, always used either Ayurvedic or Homeopathic medicines, but while choosing my course I put Homeopathy ahead of Ayurveda because of the great potential that Homeopathy has, I got 450 marks in NEET, so I was getting every reputed private college. Here the teacher-student ratio is around 1:8, like in every class there are around 35 - 65 students and for every subject, there are Professor and asst. Professors. All Professors have done PG and assistant professor have done their B.H.M S but few assistance professors have also done PG. The teachers here are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable too, their teaching method is also good I am in First-year right now, as far I know our University exams happen after 12 months but internal exams happen after 2 months of admission, like in Anatomy we give stages and in Physiology written test of all that we have studied so far, We enjoy stages they are quite a fun.
Placement Experience
After completing your Internship, you get the BHMS degree. You can either join any hospital or go for Post Graduation (MD), the degree from H.P.U is highly reputed all over India, till now many doctors who studied from here are doing extremely grate and earning a handsome amount. So far no failure is reported here, every single person is doing good in their careers Few of our seniors told us about few students who got placed in India's biggest Homeopathic companies. Rest all is up to you, how deeply you involve in your studies and get all concepts clear. After getting my B.H.M.S degree I will go for MD and open my own Hospital.
Fees and Financial Aid
This year the annual fee is 1 lakh 10 thousand, this increases every year like last to last year it was around 86-87K There is no scholarship for fee recession, but you can contact the college administration for assistance.
Campus Life
The campus area is too small, but we enjoy being there, Our seniors are very supportive, and there is no ragging at all, we jam around with seniors and teachers are also very jolly in nature, there is a canteen where you can enjoy 3 times meal (Rs 40/- per person), there is no Nescafe in here but u obviously have it in market. There are many medicinal plants all around the campus for study purpose, Students get free doctor assistance and medicines from Dispensary all along the day, Due to Covid, there are some strict protocols, like - No entry without Mask and Hand Sanitizer, - RT-PCR if you went outside the city for more than 5 days, - No crowding inside the campus, - Not more than 10 people are allowed to enter the canteen, There are many cultural programs happening here the first is the Freshers party, then the Thanksgiving party, then Hahnemann day, Sports day etc.
