Remarks

Ethames has the best infrastructure one can find in any degree college in the city, the entire college has a centralized air conditioning system and the walls are probably soundproof (college is literally located beside the main signal and we can not listen to any traffic noise). Ethames has a decent size canteen, no ground, has a nice student lounge, has 2 snooker table (only 1 is in working condition) and also has a table tennis table. Classrooms have digital smart screens (80% of sessions would be done digitally). The Admission process was quite simple, based on intermediate marks you will be eligible for courses (only BBA course requires a higher percentage). Interview round with student and parents. Ethames provides a good number of Internships every year and I guess no other college would provide as many as Ethames do.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Ethames has different types of courses like BBA, BCOM (generals, sales and Marketing, computers, foreign trade). I chose BBA because it is a course where all the subjects of Bcom as well as Management topics would be covered. Also, I will have to choose an elective in the final year (HR/ Marketing/ Finance). Faculty at our college is good (not the best) subject faculty changes might happen. The main faculty is prettier good and have many years of experience. The faculty-student Ratio probably there would be around 450 students per batch and around 15-25 faculty members. Teaching method of all the faculty members are pretty good, they will teach 80% of the session digitally on the smart screen, the whiteboard is used less which is good. A few of the lectures also show us videos in YouTube and let us play online games. As our college is affiliated with Osmania University, OU will look after the time table, correction, centres, etc. Ethames will only look after mids exams, easy.

Internships Opportunities

5

I have done 5 internships with experience of 1 year 4 months. Companies I have done internships with are OYO ROOMS - the role was sales and marketing intern. HouseWise - role as lead coordinator and operations in Hyderabad. Page - the role was Marketing Strategist. Fillip Tech - the role was HR. Mercury Associates - the role was project head. We will almost get around 10 internships per month and half of them would be paid internships and a few of them would be work from home and others would be on field internships. I am in my 3rd year and I have an experience of 1 year 4 months, that’s great right (I have taken leave when I had my exams).

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for campus placement in 3rd year. We will also have aptitude and training for interviews and resume in 3rd year. Placements will start in the 3rd year, currently, there are very few companies for placements and more for paid internships. On average every student who has applied for placement will get placed in some of the other company, Avg package is 3 lakhs ( I have seen 1 lakh and 10 lakh package as well). I am in the batch of 2018-2021 so I am experiencing very less placements it might be due to pandemic (I don’t know) companies visited during last years are Deloitte, BMW, ICICI back, Byjus etc. We have an internship with companies like OYO rooms, CK, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. My plans after getting a degree are to do a good job for atleast a year and then plan my Masters in Abroad, I’ll do MBA outside INDIA.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I am pursuing BBA, I have paid around 55000 per semester which is around 3,30,000 per course. B.Com is a little bit less expensive than BBA, B.Com Computers/Generals/Foreign trade, Sales and marketing would cost anywhere from 2,80,000 to 3,00,000. I don’t think there is any scholarship or reservations, every student is equal and everyone pays the same fees. Coming to placements and Internships, I am in my 3rd year and I have completed around 5 internships with the college (around 14 months of experience with internships) 3 of them were paid internships (around 10k/mo). Coming to placements, currently, there are no MNC’s coming up (due to pandemic) on avg the package is 3 lakhs. Few might get 5-10 lakhs as well.

Campus Life

3

Our college is G+6 floors, the ground floor has admission office and library, 6th floor is management office, 5th floor is a canteen, 1-4 floors have classrooms. Around 3 classrooms per floor. Life at the campus is good, can’t bunk classes as there is nowhere to go except washrooms and sometimes canteen. The campus has no ground and has 0 windows, since college hours are only 4 hours we don’t feel much. There will be around 3-4 fests per year like Freshers, Farewell, Christmas, and 2-3 college events. There is plenty of available of books and journals in the library (probably no one has ever gone to it). We get free textbooks for every semester, we don’t need to return the books (included in the fees). Classroom is equipped with fingerprint scanners for Attendance, theater chairs (very comfortable), projectors/smart screens.

Interview Experience

5

There will be a Personal Interview with the student as well as parents. (The interview really doesn’t matter). I was asked easy questions like President of India. What is micro and macro economics (since I am a MEC student). Basics of Accounts and for MPC students, What is a cell etc. Interview questions are too easy, it’s just for formality. There would not be any evaluation or any marks given.

Admission:

Firstly, i registered on the official site of the college. Post that, i was required to take an entrance test conducted by the college authorities called HMAT. Later there was group discussion held. The final admission is based on the performance in the entrance test and group discussion. You're required to present all the required documents to the college admission authorities if you qualify the two rounds.
