Remarks
The college is a very neat and clean campus. It is a part of E-box colleges now. So, now they are offering many offers to students which includes a monthly stipend to higher-scoring students from higher secondary. The admission process held here through the management and also by Anna university counselling. I was thinking to study the B.E Agriculture Engineering course. At that time this course is offered by only a few colleges in Tamilnadu. Here I found slightly less fee comparing to other colleges. I found this college through the Shiksha website.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course B.E Agriculture Engineering to do something for farmers because I belonged to a farming family. There are very few faculty members compare to other departments. There are only 3 to 4 faculties for the whole department and they are recruiting people now. The minimum qualification for the faculty is M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Sc in Agriculture-related specification like post-harvest technology, food, and dairy engineering, farm power engineering, etc. The internal examinations will be held thrice for a semester. A semester term varies from 4-5 months including examination time. The term examinations were very difficult because this college is affiliated with Anna University and so the question paper was set by them. But, with good preparation and good execution in the exam it will be very easy to clear term exams.
Internships Opportunities
Our college is starting to offer on-campus internships from this academic year onwards majorly for CSE students collaborating with Amphisoft technologies Pvt ltd. Also, few IOT companies like Greefi technologies offer students on-campus internships with stipends for CSE, ECE & Mech Students. For Agriculture department just now they started a venture startup to offer internship for students named "Agrigate"
Placement Experience
From the sixth semester onwards they start the placement training for students. From the seventh semester onwards students are attending their campus drives. For our Agriculture Engineering department, the first batch of students attended their placement campus drives of the companies like Rivulis irrigation. Around 30 out of 47 students were placed in various companies in the agriculture sector. From 2.5 lakh per annual to 4.5 lakh per annual packages offered to students by the companies. Around 65% of students got placements. My plan is first to be placed in an Agri machinery company and then become a civil servant.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for the study is nearly Rs.70,000 for this course. And books and note fee will be Rs.8500. If you are the first to graduate student then you will get Rs.25000 concession from the fee. I am a first graduate student. So, I got Rs.25,000 concession and Rs.10,000 concession by a personal plea from the management. Now, they are offering nearly Rs.10,000/month stipend to students who are scoring above 90% of marks in Higher Secondary with an on-campus incubation work which is collaborated with E-box program a part of Amphisoft technology initiative. If you are a Hosteller then you need to pay around Rs.45000/year. If you are a day scholar it may vary for various localities.
Campus Life
Here we conduct a technical symposium once a year for our Agriculture Engineering department. It may be held around the month of October. In our college, all the major books needed for the Engineering students can be collected from the library. Also, journals like Agriculture Engineering Today and few journals are available. The classrooms are equipped with a projector facility and a very good ventilation facility. College campuses and classrooms are always very cleanly maintained by workers. For sports, they give less importance compare to academic activities. As an E-box initiative, a startup named "Agrigate" is started now with the students and the aim is to provide organic vegetables for the people. We don't have any social group as of now.
